Trump is right about one thing we are ruled by stupid people

A country of 320 million people has consistently failed to come up with a credible intelligent leader due to one factor - corruption. There must be a multitude of brilliant people in the US but the system ensures that they don't reach the top.

Hence the arrival of the likes of Trump - God help us

Trump actually looks quite sane though in comparison to Hillary Clinton. She bizarrely feels it necessary to promise not to use the perfectly sensible phrase "illegal immigration" ever again.

I think there are serious issues with Hilary Clinton mainly associated with her
surname and its sad that the Democrats couldn't come up with a better front runner but she is surely a better bet that than the egotistical maniac Trump.

The fact is he speaks for the ordinary American when he mentions immigration,he has pointed out how the Democrats have like Labour in Britain decided the way for them to win is to change the electorate.

This suits Wall Street and the wealthy,they don't care that it drives down wages,don't care that it causes strife in working class areas.

Ted Cruz has just realised that its the immigration stance that's resonating which is why he has gone over to Trumps position.

along with the comical bernie (at least larry david wouldn't be short of material) the worst option, wouldn't be surprised if The Party disposed of hilary in tragic fashion just prior to the election and used an unknown to slipstream in on the sympathy vote (not naming names but their identity politics approach should narrow it down)

trump is no genius and has an annoying and exagerrated bluff and bluster but is not the deluded narcissist that obama is.
carson and to some extent fiorina are the opposite personality wise, but similar in that neither are politicians, all as badly (politically) qualified as obama however all have had proper jobs at the top of their chosen fields and understand the concept of staff.

cruz is probably the most intelligent academically and possibly politically and though a great speaker is a bit lacking in popular charisma and presence.
christie the only governor (unless romney makes a surprise run) with kasich and bush now fading fast. a plain speaking alternative to trump with much more political experience but much less celebrity.
rubio a fairly moderate allrounder which may work for or against him, also young, latino and attractive which all helps in us politics.

Wildman he talks like that because he wants to get in. He's a shameless populist. Ultimately he'll do the bidding of big business and wall street when he gets into power.

There is that danger but that would apply to any candidate.

Marco Rubio was strong on immigration but when he got into the Senate he turned native and declared for amnesty a complete about turn.

politics is the art of the possible and your options are limited when you have 50 million illegal immigrants already in the country, the us already has reasonable legislation but it is simply not being applied including the ridiculous sanctuary city situation.
not much any republican or moderate democrat can do, rubio included, if the president decides to bypass the democratic process and public opinion and rule by executive order, so you can understand taking a moderate stance in the meantime, hard to say what his approach would be with another president but it could lose him the primary even though it would make him more appealing to the centre left if he was the candidate.
