This must be ready for change soon,we will need a military approach from Germany to protect Europe pretty soon ? I can see a U-turn coming with our post war attitude towards Germany and its military in the next decade.

They are importing millions of Muslims as we speak.

With Merkel in charge all you will get from Germany is appeasement.

Europes only hope lies in Hungary and Slovakia, they see the problem, they quite rightly said they only wanted Christian refugees and were vilified for it.

More foreign born citizens in the UK than Germany, suggest as with everything UK should look closer to home before blaming others

Aye gerry, but the game has changed significantly recently.

We are dealing with terrorism here, it is hard to fight I know, but we cannot solve this by war

We are losing our reason here, this country has been reasonably lucky so far, only one terrorist attack of note 7/7, we must remain vigilante

but we must not over react either, or we may create more terrorists

France have got a lot more Muslims and they are Arab as well, they should have left Gadhafi where he was, he kept all the local

nutters under control who are now loose. I know the US pressurised France as they did us, but you see Europe is much more vulnerable, we should

have refused the US on this. Particularly as I think they are mostly to blame for where we are now, they had no right to interfere in the

Middle East in defence of Israel, that was  a great evil.

The scene is set for decades of this stuff.
You can't reason with these people - they can't even get on with their own kind.

Conflict and murder is in their DNA.

The future for Europe in this respect doesn't look bright at all.
Report ebulGery • November 14, 2015 3:07 PM GMT
murder is your dna Dr Crippen....considering your usernameLaughWink

You could be right to an extent

Which was why we should be more cautious in letting them into our societies
and more important NO MORE INVASIONS OF MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES please leave them to it
neither do they want our values, so don't force that on them either

although if we can correct some of the wrong we have done fine

as for refugees, I make no comment
Report treetop • November 14, 2015 3:12 PM GMT
Aye, but appeasement is not the answer either as the hatred of religious style is not negotiable except in total capitulation. Pretty rotten choices now, notwithstanding some tacit agreement that our interference has contributed to this state of affairs. Incidentally, this has been coming for decades, Iraq and the rest has only presented a few cause celebres.

It is risky with refugees, but when people are refugees well they need refuge?????????????????????

I wish we would let Assad win in Syria, once we have done that, we can work on him to be more humane

As for N.Iraq I think it needs to be a separate or devolved state but not under ISIS unless they start to see reason
An agreement will have to be reach on oil revenues

Treetop I am not asking for complete capitulation, we can stand our ground in our societies, but not in theirs I am afraid

Attacking Religions frequently makes them stronger not weaker, and we should just be attacking terrorists

One suggestion I would have, they keep their religion but they are obliged to abide by the rules of the society
which has let them in

and this must also apply to their children and children's children, et al.....they do not come into other societies to change them
Report donny osmond • November 14, 2015 3:51 PM GMT
the scene has been set by the west having colonies on which they became rich

as these unwound the problems emerge as the locals fight for what is left, these
countries were easy targets for colonisation because of the feudal and disjointed
nature of things that they are now returning to, but now they are armed , educated,
and annoyed

guerrilla warfare has always been almost impossible to stop, going way back to
roman times and beyond.

often a solution or part solution is to recruit some of the guerrillas and embed
them within your existing structure....poacher turned gamekeeper, but some
of these indoctrinated fundamentalists are just ticking timebombs  and beyond
recruitment.

propaganda then comes into play, hearts and minds, and wait for the storm
to pass

not looking good near future

Suggestion !
What are they doing at the moment  then holding them at gunpoint as they reach European borders & asking them to denounce their religion, so your basically saying " we are letting you in you can  keep your religion but be nice"

You have started drinking early tonight Crazy

I think that was the implicit deal in allowing them in ebul. Who'd have thought they would have taken the deal to get in and ignore it? You couldn't have seen that happening. Does anybody remember how long ago The Satanic Verses furore was? Laugh

I can only partially agree Donny. Guerilla warfare on a stronger invading force in almost impossible to stop. With the will addressing it with a minority group in your own country is very easy if you have the will to grasp the nettle.

I would agree with that gerry, in fact that is all most of us have ever wanted but it has not been forthcoming from a vocal minority that has been allowed to grow because of our weakness.

Treetop Re your original post I'm not sure what you mean?
"I can see a U-turn coming with our post war attitude towards Germany and its military in the next decade."
Germany continued to have a large military all through the cold war, I'm not sure many knew that? We didn't disarm them and let them lie like lambs. We rearmed them very quickly after ww2, just not theoretically allowed to be offensive, as a defence against the USSR. They had and have shi*tloads of good tanks and weapons (often home built and exported as very good), western supplied air force, until recently AFAIK national service. Germany has been our ally for 70 years.

The biggest damage Germany has done to europe since 1945 is Merkel deciding to invite thousands of brainwashed nutcases in thinking this was a good idea.

What do you think we believe or they should do now, I don't understand your point :(
Report treetop • November 15, 2015 11:13 AM GMT
My point is that Germany represents our best bulwark against Islamic fundamentalism and will need to become more militaristic in years to come. They have done some peacekeeping within NATO but I suspect their politics will become more right wing soon. German tolerance a la Merkel may have provided cover for the planning of such an attack and I can see it becoming less tolerant now.I could have phrased that better, apolgies.
Report donny osmond • November 15, 2015 6:55 PM GMT
i suspect germany would act via nato or united nations before placing their troops on foreign soil as german troops
