UK customers are pretty much always treated with contempt!

We pay over the odds and get lousy customer service.

My daughter's "HP Pavillion" lap top went blue screen two weeks out of guarantee.

I sent an e-mail on a Sunday afternoon and was staggered to get a reply less than three hours later.

It was a known problem as the graphics card was integral with the motherboard.

They were doing a "One Time Out Of Warranty Repair" and would send a bag for return.

It transpired that this was in America so they passed it to UK.

A week went by and nothing, so I mailed again and had confirmation that it was passed.

Found my way to UK site and they said they wouldn't do it.

After protests they said they would but then again later said they would'nt.

They would do a repair for £250.00 but if it didn't work they would keep the £250.00.

I asked if they would supply a new one at cost and the answer was no.

In America this Lap Top is 30% less, and they get unbelievable customer care.

My really big regret is not sending it to "Watch Dog", as they would have been destroyed!

We bought a Sebo vacuum cleaner a few years ago with 5 year warranty.
Not cheap but good.
However, developed a fault where cable connects to switch in handle.
Phoned to ask them to repair.
They said no, must have damaged it from pulling the cable.
I said no ... they said no.
I googled and it's a known fault.
I then phoned customer service manager and said it's a known fault and it's now been redesigned.
I asked if it had been posted on Mumsnet yet.
He sent man to collect and repair it.

Yeah but I guess they are not all bad.

I bought a Karcher Jet Washer, just on impulse as it was there, with a genuine reduction.

Didn't use it for over 6 months. Put it away, and when I went to use it again the lance was on the floor, and there was a plastic "U"
clip also, and then I saw that the lance had broken off the hose as there was just not enough strength at the back of the clip!

Phoned them and it was well over a year since I got it.

They were brilliant. Didn't say it was a known fault but clearly they knew.

They sent a new lance, which was either from an even better model, or an upgraded design.

Aunty ...

I'm getting an image of a man who

Likes things to do with fires ... barbecues, log burners, bonfires

Who burns loads of waste paper... 8cu ft

Buys a high pressure water jet contraption

Do you dress up as a fireman, by any chance?

I've heard it's popular with ladies?

Does it work ...

You do have consumer rights here you know.
There are 2 principles that are effectively
distance selling (not seen product till it arrives) and
reasonable usage in relation to price.

dead easy to take them to country court now, just fill it in online Laugh

my oldman bouth a pair of shoes
the sole fell off and he asked for a refund.....they said it was years ago since he bought em
he said he'd not worn them (and he was correct, if tight (bloody accountants) its the use you have out of something)

Don't need to go to such extremes, as people say I look outstanding in my cycling shorts, particularly when I put my banana and two plums down them!
