Yes saw that on the news. Interestingly given previous issues, the boy was white, police not.

They are so trigger happy there though, there was a video the other day where one went to a door for something trivial, woman answered door and her dog ran out, if you've got dogs you know this happens, dogs like to see people. The guy just pulled his gun and shot it, was all caught on camera.

You can't imagine that here.

So, a 6 year old white boy is reportedly shot and killed by police, two of whom now charged with murder. (Source : most US/UK reports).

When do the riots start?

When does Obama clumsily enter the fray with an unhelpful interjection or two?

When does the cry of 'racist police' come up from the US?

Around 4 days on and nothing yet.

What's different about this case?

American Police ...out of control, British Police not far behind !
1) Remember the Jean Charles da Silva de Menezes - British Police murdered the poor guy on a Tube Train - then told a pack of lies to try and cover up what really happened.
2) Mark Duggan murder ...Police killed an unarmed man.
3) Ian Tomlinson a newspaper vendor who collapsed and died in the City of London after being struck by a police officer during the 2009 G-20 summit protests.
etc ...etc ...
Just watch the way these arrogant b uggers behave on the reality TV programes.
Was a time when the British Bobby drove around in a Panda Car ...helpful, polite considerate- not any more
now smoke about in BMW's with an ego to match and as arrogant as phuck !
In the case of the 6 year old white boy ...
I think the report says the Police pumped 5 bullets into the poor boy's head.
No guns were found in the Car - both Police Officers quite rightly now charged with Murder.

As with most the police are a product of their environment. Tough job these days not made any easier by people like yourself misleading people about cases in this country.

"misleading people about cases in this country"
Tell that to the families of Jean Charles da Silva de Menezes, Mark Duggan and Ian Tomlinson to name but a few.
Look I'd agree not all coppers are bad - but they defintely have an image problem these days -
and that's coming from them ...not me.

Anyone remember the shooting of Stephen Waldorf in the early 80's, shot several times by the police while in his car, problem was they were hunting escaped convict David Martin & mistook Mr Waldorf for Martin who was I think hunted down & killed at  Hampstead Station some days later.

Just looked it up,  must be captured at Hampstead station as he hung himself in jail before his trial.

These two cops had plenty of previous by all accounts. One had actually been done for rape. They were also moonlighting for a local agency at the time run by a jack the lad.

How they still had badges is a mystery to me, but no doubt a court will ascertain that..

David Martin was rearrested shortly after the shooting. Sue Stephens had continued to be kept under police surveillance and attended a restaurant in Heath Street, Hampstead, north-West London, where she met up with Martin, who had dyed his distinctive blond hair dark. He was challenged by police and ran into Hampstead tube station, ran down the stairs of London's deepest tube station, south along the northbound track where eventually he was arrested at Belsize Park station without incident. He had a shotgun hidden inside his coat, and told the driver of a northbound Northern line train that he was a signal engineer. He was found guilty at Old Bailey of the attempted murder of PC Nicolas Carr and was sentenced to life in prison. He died in his prison cell in 1984; it was alleged that he had committed suicide.

American police shoot dead more people every month than have ever been killed by UK police.

alun, why would you expect there to be riots?
By:
alun2005
When: 08 Nov 15 15:16
Because riots have routinely followed previous shootings by police officers in the US in recent times.

So why not now?
By:

When: 08 Nov 15 15:33
Possibly because they were arrested and charged with murder whereas if the victim was black and the officers white would the authorities have acted so quicklyMischief

It seems near to civil war at times out in the US, between the white and black population

I do not know the answer, neither does anyone else it seems

I cannot believe they would shoot a 6 year old child dead deliberately?
Unless he was exceptionally large for his age...looks like panic to me????????????????????????????????

They must be charged

Cant be comparing duggan and thomlison incidents , two deaths but very diff set of events ,policeman that pushed him did not try and kill him but should have been convicted ,duggan had a gun ? so a diff thing altogether ,riots that followed were allowed to happen ,total disgrace ,almost like a boil was being lanced prior to the big gig ,police were no where to be seen and msm went trainer looting mad ....was insane

I think Tomlinson was a genuine accident, although I think they did push him way too hard

Duggan I think was complete panic, but I find against the police there

Because riots have routinely followed previous shootings by police officers in the US in recent times.

Presumably them the white folks are quite happy about this.

My point rockinron is that the police sometimes do make mistakes and you also have some bad eggs but you made no attempt to balance your post with relevant facts. De Menezes happened at a time of national panic and heightened tension with poor intelligence leading on to decisions being taken without full evidence and at a time when the police feared the worst. Duggan was someone who was well known to the police and who we also now know had picked up a gun. The police intelligence was that he had it with him and was a dangerous man who would use it. With Tomlinson, someone got over eager and gave him a push. Absolute catastrophe for the man and his family and probably something which will haunt the police office for the rest of their lives but a little perspective is called for.

The police have an image problem for many reasons with the chief one amongst them being the change in our society which is reflected by them over the last few decades.
