When I look a wildlife tv programme I always hope that the pack of lions or wolves lose out when closing in on their dinner.Dinner is usually a small animal that has no chance of surviving .In fact I think it is very sad when the little animal is caught and killed.
Yet the same guy(me) could not care less about the animal that is killed when I tuck in to my steak, chicken, ham and lamb that's on my own dinner plate.
I think this is strange.

When one buys meat displayed on a counter in a butcher`s shop, one doesn`t think that it was once a living creature. If the animals were killed in front of you, the majority of people wouldn`t eat meat. I think it`s a form of hypocrisy which the majority of us suffer.

Have you tried a McDonalds sausage and egg McMuffin?.....The fast food item I drool over when I am very hungry the night after a few bevvies. Absolute diet disaster but what the heck. Never thought of the pig, I'm a meat eater though wonder how my Mcpig was kept before I bit into it.

its funny how we are trained about what we eat.If we were told that the burger we were about to eat had cat, dog,or horse in it we would not be happy, but beef, pork, chicken sounds fine.
yet if someone asked did you enjoy your cow burger ,or pig burger,it would make you think.
Chicken seems to get away with it.Grin

I live near Sudbury in Suffolk where a butcher shop made the national news last year just because two idiots complained about the window display. The shop got support not just from everyone locally but from around the world.

One good thing about checking out Aldi is finding by far the best Hot Dog sausages.

Hither to, the best (for me at least) are the ones by "Herta" but they are somewhat small in girth.

The Aldi Bockwurst are made of Veal & Pork with a greater proportion of Veal.

I wonder how many read the label and how they would react to eating Veal!

Aunty ...

M&S do superb hot dog type sausages ... called Posh Dogs I think.  Big and tasty.

Go very well on the barbecue in my experience.

Being as I am I will deffo try these if I ever get near an M&S!

£8.00 for twelve does sound a bit steep but, hey ho, if they are good so what.

I see they are 85% pork whereas the German ones aren't, and given the fact that the Germans are sausage experts,
I'll be surprised if they are better but always worth following a recommendation.

Looking at some other products which are just ridiculous!

"Hand Crafted Cottage Pie"....six portions (I mean how large) for £30.00.

Eight burgers £18.00 for Christ's sake. Come on, £2.25 each....mental!
