Sussex Police have released CCTV footage of a man who tried to defraud a supermarket by staging a fall and claiming compensation for £11,000.
Louis Dempsey, 35, of Mount Pleasant, in Brighton, claimed he had suffered back and neck pain, headaches, and emotional suffering after falling on a wet surface at Asda's Marina store in the city in June 2012.
He said he slipped on water which had been dripping from the ceiling.
Following a trial at Lewes Crown Court earlier this month, Dempsey was jailed for nine months after being found guilty of fraud by making a false representation.

I believe that this case originally sprang from him being discovered by staff in the vegetable aisle with his trousers down and a cucumber up his back-side.
It then just escalated into a case of claim/counterclaim... imho he was very unlucky, if a tad foolhardy, as we've all been there in A&E trying to justify what happened to us...  |

The best fraud case bar none was the bloke who pretended to be in a coma by laying really really still.
Even when he was under suspicion and having benn set court dates to appear he continued the charade and got admitted to hospital on several occasions to avoid having to defend himself. That must have been tortuous not being able to move at all, not a mm, even if got cramp or an itch. He was caught when the glass of water by his bedside miraculously reduced during the night  He even pissed and s hit himself. As Roy used to say 'dedication swat ya neeeeeeed' |
