I've just switched on the EUFA Cup highlights on ITV+1 and there's another one of the bleeders.

That's after the plethora of the buggers on every single football show that's been on terrestrial tv for at least the last week.

Enough is a-bloody-nough.

I do NOT want to see or hear any woman commenting on or presenting football.

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

For God's sake, you media idiots, let us sport lovers alone and take your political correctness elsebloodywhere.

Women pundits on the rugby world cup too.  Ridiculous.

All about widening the appeal for sport to drag a few more girls into the viewing and playing public so diversity figures can be achieved. Reducing core viewers that may be mostly male is acceptable, just look at channel4 racing for that example.

The makers of television programmes seem dead set on destroying their 'brand' for no reason other than Enforced Correctness/Diversity, whether it's the parachuting of women into all sports broadcasts, or the absurd ways that programme makers manage to introduce homosexualist, disabled or ethnic minority characters into dramas.

The once-enjoyable 'LEWIS' series, for example, has all but been destroyed by the programme's own makers. Not content with ditching the 2 hour show format, we have seen the ridiculous introduction of two ethnic minority characters into the most recent two series who have added precisely nothing. The result has been to smash the core of the programme which was the Lewis/Hathaway working and inter-personal relationship. The increasingly-ludicrous stories can also be relied upon to cover racism, feminism etc.  'LEWIS' is dead.  I'm wondering now how they will manager to destroy 'ENDEAVOUR'. No doubt the next series of stories will lecture us all as to the backward ways of Britain in the late 60s/early 70s.

One more observation. Is a man allowed to present the News on his own these days, or will the sky fall in should that happen?
Report Danno • October 23, 2015 1:20 PM BST
The inclusion of an England women's rugby player on the ITV pundit team is the most painfully transparent example of tokenism. There is an abundance of articulate better qualified ex-pro players they could have used for genuine insight and analysis.

The BBC, unsurprisingly, are the worst culprits. The succession of useless female sports news presenters is a sad reflection of the quality & content of BBC sport these days. That breakfast bird, Sally Nugent, is just terrible.  Only really fit for women's and disability sport. In fact, the disability sports presenter juggernaut is surely only minutes away from BBC HQ.

While I'm at it, the single worst female presenter / pundit on BBC Sport, who seemingly has a contract for life, is Denise Lewis. When she appears alongside the superb Michael Johnson, I'm actually embarrassed for him having to listen to such vacuous drivel.

Its the football commentators on R5 that really annoy me.  Its not what they say but the pitch of the voice. It is too high and is uncomfortable to listen to.

Yes, but to be fair I understand that there will soon be male commentators on:

Strictly Childbirth - the show where celebrity pregnant women give birth live on TV.  Panel of judges award marks for, well, something.

Knit of the Day - to be broadcast on Saturday afternoons in place of Grandstand

and I understand there's an exciting new project to televise Muslim Women's fashions ... what the younger women should wear under a burka - on BBC4, with a live link to the Guardian - but the models will be wearing a, err, burka

and finally, for the older ladies, a celebrity leg wax show

Did the same about half an hour ago, Fool Proof.

While she's one of the 'less annoyers' there are so many of the buggers on tv and evermore on radio now, talking about sport I just want to switch off as soon as I hear or see one.

Trouble is, I'm a sports lover and only have terrestrial tv, so am being abused - yes, abused, by 'the powers that be' by their insistence that I listen to these useless women talking about things that they have very little knowledge of/very little interest in - or even if they have - their high pitched voices are enough to make you plug your ears with asbestos.

It's so very wrong.

The trouble is - the Sports Editor of the BBC has been a woman for quite a few years now.

Things have gone so far downhill since her tenure, with women presenters being shunted into every sports programme there is and no end of 'pro women' broadcasting, it really stinks of "Ha! You men WILL PAY for your love of sports, whether you like it or not!"

Tommy has my vote on this one,I really can't understand why the media are forcing this approach on us alienating a significant proportion of viewers just to be fashionable in Islington dining rooms. The underlying theme is if it is attractive tottie the thickos among us will watch for that reason. A bit poitless when we can watch far more explicit on the web ?

The clue is in the three heads of BBC tv.

Charlotte Moore, Controller BBC One
Kim Shillinglaw, Controller BBC Two and BBC Four
Sam Bickley, Acting Channel Editor BBC Three  (Sam short for Samantha)

No mention of Sport in the 25 job titles of the top BBC people, but Comedy, Fiction, Entertainment, Drama, Factual, Films, Business, Knowledge, Daytime are all there.
Successes include Great British Bake Off, Strictly Come Dancing, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Sherlock, Doctor Who.

I can't wait for Claire Balding to take over Match Of The Day.
She will tell us that the ball is round and it is kicked, and the object of the game is to get the ball in the net, but other players try to stop them getting the ball in the net. Sad

11.01 post spot on about Lewis - a wonderful long borne out series beginning with Morse, it's identification now needlessly 'updated' in the name of PC for no good cause whatsoever. Lewis and Hathaway are now it appears just two of four leading characters.

Here's the bloody BBC 'Head of Sports' bugger: Barbara Slater

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Slater_(sports_producer)
Report Tommy Toes • October 26, 2015 9:39 PM GMT
"During her time as Director of Sport though Slater has overseen the loss of many exclusive BBC Sport deals most notably that of full time Formula One coverage from free to air broadcasting and the Grand National which saw Channel 4 gain the rights in March 2012; further dilution of the BBC sports portfolio (together with the loss of advert-free coverage) was announced by Barbara Slater in the guise of a sharing arrangement with ITV;[9] and in September 2015 she announced the imminent loss of yet more live coverage, this time of The Open Championship.[10]"

Whether or not anyone has 'tweaked' that Wiki page, that paragraph is definitely true.

Just about the time it started its terminal 'women, women, women' decline.
