Matt Damon gets left behind on Mars and we make a film about it rather than have a block-party?

I "read" the audiobook, still mean to see the film but the guy who wrote it is an astronomer and gave the book away in Chapters for free on his blog. In return his readers helped him correct the science and it's pretty much true (although radiation would have killed him well before his rescue.)

Hardly the director who is the story teller .........I am reading the novel now before watching the film , it is very good.

Watched The Martian at the weekend. Not normally my kind of film, with one actor taking up half the film, but I enjoyed it - better than Gravity imo.

eyeball, you forgot The Departed

Matt Damon is superb. He knows how to pick a film better than most. With the excpetion of Jack Nicholson.

I saw something on the internet that mad me chuckle. It went.......

Saving private Ryan, Interstellar, The Martian. Just how much money has the US spent retrieving Matt Damon Grin

Yeah I'm not having my namesake's opinion either. Generally if I see Matt Damon is in a film it's a stamp of approval and I want to watch it. Excellent actor.

Read the book, havent seen the film (yet). I suspect that this could be a rare occasion where the film is better than the book.

It's okay but Interstellar picks it up and kicks it over the rails for me.
