Orioles was the best. Some daft thread about hitting a golf ball off the eiffel tower, I got so annoyed with him I did the internet equivalent of turning my back on him and only communicating via a third party. I was right too, that is why lawyers get paid so much, they can win an argument even when they are wrong. Orioles is a good egg though.

I enjoyed reading Angel Gabrial and Blackburn on the politics forum but they both seem to have disappeared. Banned perhaps?

Bert was the undisputed king, but that's years ago.

I disagree kenny mann, the undisputed Daddy of the forum in my opinion was gamble by the proverbial country mile. Second to him I'd say it was the bookie CuBoNe aka Don Butler. Bert was a very intelligent poster no doubt about that but he completely lost the plot and ended up being far too vitriolic, for me.

Cubone had the two qualities vital for winning internet battles - unshakeable self-belief and a total inability to spell.
As Cubone he was forever claiming to be proud of his roots in the Birmingham gutter, but as Don Butler, the fiddling aways bookie, it proved to be his kryptonite. He waged a two-decade feud with Eddie Fremantle after a day at Worcester when all the UK away meetings had been abandoned, and Fremantle beside his pitch shouting "Thair goan be'oind at Toorfontaaaayyne!" Butler completely lost it and spent the rest of his life fruitlessly seething at Fremantle. |

This is clear-cut.
The daddy is Eeternaloptimist. As demonstrated when he easily brushed Orioles aside, after he'd gone on the politics forum pretending to know it all. And he gave Orioles a good hiding on another occasion over a legal matter as well. His battle with Menelaus went on longer than War and Peace. With of course Eo emerging as the winner in that epic war of attrition on the Politics forum. If you want to play rough and abusive, he can be as rough and abusive as they come. And it's like nailing jelly to a wall trying to prove him wrong. If you take on Eo, you'd better get ready for fifteen rounder. You won't knock him out, and you certainly won't do him for durability. |

Yes agree EO is good value for the neutral observer.

EO is in trouble. Wee Nicky is about to take his castle and land. Fortunately he has seen the light and now favours Corbyn as a political refuge. In fact I am going to offer him a Yurt in the Communist Unified Neutral Territorial Squat here in West London, where he will be safe with me away from the hairy marauders of the Nationalist thugs.

Id take on EO on the cobbles but not on here, he`d kill me

I'm a lover not a fighter. In fact I'm so good I've got it down to 10 seconds and that's with taking my socks off. I don't know who is the daddy but over the years I've very much enjoyed reading some of the blood and snot wars especially when you get two people equally matched and equally mad.

^ Brilliantly put. What happened to Cubone? I'm assuming he combusted and took a ban? |

I'm sure it was Blackburn, AG knew his real name and used to goad him all the time. He was a UKIP candidate.

Didn't someone once offer someone out in Sainsbury's Car park in Leytonstone (?) once?
Stevie someone-or-other? Someone insulted his missus and he came over all Charles Bronson. |

AG knew his real name
Yes it's amazing the lengths some people will go to, to try and get their own back once they've been stung on here. And Blackie knew how to sting. Ag was on a three timer as far as getting banned was concerned. Once for using racist language as well. So hopefully he won't be back. I don't know what happened to Blackie. He came back after his UKIP stint but the same old leftie stalkers were after him again. Mind you could handle them. Nevertheless that's the pair of them gone. |

My previous post was removed for god knows what reason...maybe someone don't like me criticising chit chat's finest.
The only feud of interest is when the people actually know each other then it can turn nasty. Two people unknown to each other tends to just be a clash of egos from attention seekers. One of the heroes admitted that he tried to get me to meet him and he was going to teach me to have some respect. Don't half take themselves seriously some of these mighty intellects ![]() |

"Stretch Armstrong was waiting for me in his range rover in the car park of a Harvester somewhere just off a ringroad somewhere" There are some serious dogging undertones going on here. |

'As demonstrated when he easily brushed Orioles aside, after he'd gone on the politics forum pretending to know it all.
And he gave Orioles a good hiding on another occasion over a legal matter as well' Disgraceful distortion. EO is a dilettante bed wetter of the first order :) My favourites were always the ones that culminated with offers to meet in car parks and fight to the death, and the follow-ups with accusations of no shows. They often developed into running gags. No-one I've seen on here could get within a country mile of Bert in a row. He combined a very sharp mind with an acid tongue, and crucially an ability to keep his temper so the flow was never broken. Ironically, he went batshit crazy and metaphorically hurled himself out of a fourth floor window. There were some very funny posters over the years and some utterly bananas ones too, who were intriguing, as I never quite understood how they made their way in the world without getting a net thrown over them and hauled off to a rubber room somewhere. |

That's 2 votes for Bert then. I always kept on the right side of him by enquiring if there was anything interesting in The Reader's Digest, which he took regularly.
