I'm watching for 15 mins.....maybe

Has anyone watched F1 since 1994?
|
|
By:
Oh dear
Just watching the procession argh!!! OK - guess this is what it deserves. But the motor sport forum was usually fairly busy and now not even one post on F1 day. |
|

This reminds me, i need to dust off my scalextric set ready for christmas.

Goodness me, that woke us all up!

forums need critical mass, just not enough posters in general

Emperor's new clothes. Despite the hype and publicity machine which keeps telling us how exciting F1 is the reality is the public found out some time ago that nothing happens and the same dreary procession each time is simply boring.

I used to be quite a fan of F1 but simply got fed up with it now that the "racing" is so dull. I now don't know anyone who bothers watching it. It seems to be more about tyres and if and when they are going to change them and I find it difficult to get excited about tyres.

I watch f750 clubmans, classic, etc etc to, you name it, - up to F1
I am now coming to the conclusion that car racing doesn't actually make in on television Only going to the tracks makes it exciting - you are too far away from the action via TV, noise, smell etc etc. standing just below devils elbow and watching them going into bottom bend is ace (if anyone knows what I am talking about) I saw jo bonnier roll a lola t70 there - it went over three times and smashed to bits!!! he walked away - sadly only to be killed a couple of years later. memory of course is shot now!!! |

A post made in July about British GPrix, no less
Poppydog. 05 Jul 15 15:11 Joined: 07 Sep 01 | Topic/replies: 13,618 | Blogger: Poppydog.'s blog Wow Just went over to the Motor Sports forum to see the long thread on the views on the British GP. There isn't one - not one thread on the whole week |

dead as a dodo, shame as it was one of the better Grand Prix's.

the forums simply reflect the public's interest. No posts on F1 because people have lost interest. 134 posts on Cycling forum for the recent world champs. I'm not saying that cycling is better than F1 merely that more people are now interested in cycling than F1 despite F1 being rammed down your throat every time there's a race on because of vested financial interests. When Britains' Lizzie Armitstead won the womens world champs road race on Sunday 27 Sept. there was no mention on the news that night but of course we were told the result of the Japanese GP. And when Hamilton becomes world champ again by beating the 1 or 2 other contenders you'll need to be deaf dumb and blind to avoid the news.

A sport has to have an intrinsic simplicity and 'soul' if it's to have any worth.
Formula 1 long since lost both and is now a giant bag of marketing hot air and no amount of 'Suzi Perry, live from the pit lane, trying to appeal to the sad act Onanists' is going to change that fact. When this implodes, it's going to generate a black hole the size of which will have Prof. Brian Cox sh1tting treacle |

Stand back and await Naydam to come on this thread and explain what a bunch of cretins we all are and to point out the wonderful intricacies and complexities of F1.
|
|
By:
Naydam doesn't see the point in wasting his time. Therefore, he will refrain. I have other droppings to polish.

Today BBC website Home page has the headline "Hamilton has world title at his feet". Just in case you had missed F1 for 12 hours or so.
|
|
By:
Eeh! And there's folk tellin' me that no one's interested! What a bunch of fibbers!

BBC just give a stupid amount of coverage to the few sports they have live rights to
Current F1 is shyte. |
|
By:
The science and technology is interesting if you're into that sort of thing.
|
|
By:
But no one seems interested on the forum anymore
there always was a fair number posting on it |
|
By:
Maybe they had a collective moment of clarity and realised they were wasting their lives cracking one off every fortnight over such a shallow, soulless dull spectacle?
|
|
By:
The science and technology is boring. It used to be good but now the WEC is far superior in real life innovation
The cars are boring. The used to be mind blowing round corners and the noise was absolutely ridiculus. The drivers have never be known to have great personalities but Lewis Hamilton jabbering on about fashion weeks hardly entertains most fans |
|
By:
What is WEC? Formula One is subject to noise pollution levels, especially at city tracks.

World Endurance Championship
They made F1 quiet/green to keep the manufacturers in. The only thing saving F1 is Ferraris mini revival. I hope Red Bull and Toro Rosso leave. F1 needs a massive shake up. |
