What a bizarre situation. She gets a suspended sentence, but if it was a man and 11 year old girl he wouldn't be coming out of jail for quite some time. Apparently the dad had been with her too

fck me, the dad wants locking up as much as she does tbh.
I used to collect Planet of the Apes cards when I was 11.
"Rob Ross, defending, said Hatt was small and immature"
How the feck has her being small got anything to do with it?
"Your honour, I have shagged a load of children, beheaded a granny and ran over 6 policemen, but to be fair I am only 4ft11".

To be fair, it probably had nothing to do with it. I've seen many judges who have dismissed plenty of defence case for being totally spurious; whether or what the press report that is another matter entirely.
It was probably Rob Ross that also defended Freddie Starr.
When I was 11 I was told I was too old for Christmas and had to start buying the grown-ups presents....
Incredible bias against men in our justice system sadly, this is not justice
This was probably was not bad a crime.
Women who pretend to be men to have sex with underage girls is the worst, but never gets publicity.
The way men are crucified for having voluntary sex with an underage girl
then this is not good enough
One rule for both sexes please

The boy’s father, who had previously had a sexual relationship with the woman, defended Hatt in court saying his son is “sex-mad” and was “fully up for the experience”, viewing it as a “notch on his belt”.
Nice supporter in the courts

Shes small but must weight a few pounds going by her mush
I'm truly disgusted at this sentence.
If it was a guy he'd have been locked up for ages and been completely unemployable on his release.

What is all the sleeping nonsense. Do they mean sex or intercourse taking place. Sleeping isn't an offence???
the repercussions will go on for years though, like the building of the channel tunnel
the world has gone mad
She has sex with an 11 year old boy she is supposed to be babysitting and gets no jail and time and does not seem to be getting branded a rapist
I go out to an over 18s club, am more than likely drunk, end up with a 16 year old girl who clearly look of age as she got in, have sex with her and I will be branded a rapist and more than likely get prison time
Yes clearly equality for the sexes

12 year old boy needing a 15 year old girl babysitter?
And when you woke up, were your pyjamas damp?
And was the girl gone?

muslim girls are not supposed to have boyfriends and when a likely victim for arranged marriage is on the horizon they have to have a wali to supervise all that goes on

Unless they have an arranged marriage with a robot on the horizon and then they have to have a WALL-E to supervise all that goes on.
'Arranged Marriage' seems to work as well as any alternative that springs to mind. Just my opinion...which will, of course, be at odds with many others.
If I had eleven-year-old twins of different sexes, I feel that I'd prefer my son to get it on with a 21-year-old female babysitter than my daughter to do so with a 21-year-old bloke. I mean, the latter really is much worse, isn't it?
Would any actual parents like to comment?

MOBO there is nothing in ENGLISH LAW that says muslims girls cant have boyfriends of whatever ever race
FACT

Hmmm. Parental approval would seem to hold more sway in Moslem and other family structures. It is still very strong in cultures. Sometimes for better. Sometimes for worse.
Marriage partners are selected according to many, varied, parameters, but are less likely to be for flippant, immature reasons.

Man (19) arrested, family 'in shock' after girl (12) is found to be pregnant
A teenager has been arrested after a 12-year-old girl was found to be pregnant.
The 19-year-old has been released on police bail while further inquiries and medical checks are carried out.
He was arrested in the Lenadoon area of west Belfast on Thursday after police were advised about the young girl's pregnancy.
If the teenager is found to have had sexual relations with the girl he faces being charged with rape, which can carry a life sentence upon conviction.
The PSNI last night confirmed that police arrested a 19-year-old man in the west Belfast area on Thursday, October 1, in relation to a sexual offence.
A police spokesman added: "The man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries."
It is understood the girl's family has been left shocked by the pregnancy. If she carries the child to full term it is believed that she will be one of the youngest mothers ever in Northern Ireland.
According to recent statistics, 98pc of teenagers to give birth in the province last year were over16 years old.
The youngest mother in the UK is thought to have fallen pregnant when she was still in primary school at the age of 11. The girl, from London, gave birth last April aged 12 years and three months.
In the summer a north Belfast woman became Britain and Ireland's youngest known grandmother at 29 years old when her 15-year-old daughter gave birth.
The age of sexual consent in Northern Ireland has been reduced from 17 to 16 years of age.
It is a criminal offence to engage in any sexual activity with a child aged under 13 years of age, with a maximum penalty of 14 years' imprisonment. Where the sexual activity involves rape, the maximum penalty is life imprisonment.
The number of teenage girls to give birth in Northern Ireland has been steadily decreasing in recent years. Statistics from the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency show that last year 839 children were born to teenage mothers. This was the lowest on record. And the vast majority of those (98%) were to mothers aged 16 and over.
Last year 107 teenagers from Northern Ireland had a legal abortion in England, according to UK Government statistics.
Heather Low, of the Family Planning Association, said that teenage pregnancy was a complex issue and it was too simplistic to say a young person became pregnant for one reason alone.
Ms Low said it was important that all schools had consistent relationships and sexuality education (RSE).
"RSE delays the age at which young people first have sex and, beyond the mechanics of reproduction and contraception, it teaches about wider issues of consent and negotiation, self-esteem and respect, how to recognise a healthy or unhealthy relationship, how to say no and when to say yes," she added.
Ms Low stressed it was equally important that young people who were sexually active had easy access to services where they can get information and support on contraception and wider sexual health issues confidentially and without judgment.
She added that it can be an emotional time for parents who find out their daughter or son's partner is pregnant.
"It's important to get support. Chances are that your child didn't plan this and they will be feeling scared and anxious about what to do," said Ms Low.
The Family Planning Association's pregnancy choices counselling service www.fpa.org.uk/northern-ireland is a safe space for pregnant women and girls to talk through their feelings and options.
now while I do not condone what he has done how is this any different to the story in the OP (bar the fact she became pregnant)

Surely if we are being perfectly honest a 12 yr old girl having sex with an older man is more shocking than the reverse.
Of course its not the same as the other way round.
As young lads, who hasn't fantasized about sha.gging the babysitter ?

And you don't think young girls fantasise about older men?
Ask any male teacher and see if they agree.....................
No 12 year old - male or female - has the emotional capacity to deal with having a relationship with an older person (no mattter hoe "mature" they appear). There are very good reasons why the law prohibits this.

It's amazing how people see it ok for an adult woman to have sex with a minor but when it's a male he should be locked up for life, have his mickey chopped of etc........., the punishment should be the bloody same, equality when it suits it seems then
45 seconds of pleasure doesn't equate to a relationship.
I think the pleasure will last alot longer for the 11 year old.

11 seems really young I can't argue with that but people do mature at different rates. I can remember some lads at school at that age going on about sha.gging while I was more interested in superhero comics. But at 13, I would have loved to be taken advantage of like that.
The law is the law of course, and she should have known better, but it was obviously consensual in this case.

please god for the greater good of this earth tell me you have not reproduced
The law states that it is illegal in order to protect the child, boy or girl, from themselves as much as anything else.
How many 11 or 12 year-olds are ready to take on the responsibility of parenthood? How many are ready to just 'give the baby away'? How many are ready to have an abortion?
There will, almost certainly, be much traumatic soul-searching for years to come by all parties involved.
Only time will tell if this young boy has any long-term effects from this experience.

too late, apparently god had a little boy a couple of thousand years ago.
Apparently both boy and mum are doing well.
