Sports, loads of them. Football, Cricket, golf etc. Were all technically free if like me you dont bother with a TV license.

pub grub! years ago  a  pie was a pie   ....the pies have no  pastry on the sides or bottom  nowdays , now served in a china pot with an inch of free air between the meat and the top of the pastry !

Whilst many things used to be free, in 1979 the basic rate of tax was cut from 33% to 30% - Today it is 20%... food for thought?

And a tv cost about the same as it did then. I paid £80 for a 14" b&w portable in 1979 Cry

Directory enquiries. Now 118118 charge about £2.50, although with i phones I cant see them being around for much longer
