Re OP - that occurred to me but isn't all advertising about dressing up the product or service in the most appealing way possible?

Also, tbf, the 1509% apr figure displayed on the screen was depicted in larger figures than the other pay-day loan companies.

...the advert would have been made by some slick advertising agency who doubtless would have charged a fat fee for their services.
