Re OP - that occurred to me but isn't all advertising about dressing up the product or service in the most appealing way possible?
Also, tbf, the 1509% apr figure displayed on the screen was depicted in larger figures than the other pay-day loan companies.

...the advert would have been made by some slick advertising agency who doubtless would have charged a fat fee for their services.
It's just underhand as you are not hearing the number correctly.
Tree, 1509% of the people taking out Wonga loans don't understand percentages anyway, so don't fret about it too much
