Please will people stop saying this!

Just had three consecutive FB posts where the word was used inappropriately.

Some tv presenter said earlier, that the next place is literally ten seconds away. So they walked to the car, and drove off, and then cut to them walking to this next place
literally ten seconds away!

Massive culprit of this is the Harry Enfield impersonator, aka Jamie 'Literally' Oliver!

Actually, it is now appropriate to use the word in this context ie for emphasis. It's been added to the dictionary.

On one hand the language is dynamic and a rose would smell as sweet and all that but on balance I'd have to say that where a word has a clear meaning and halfwits who don't understand it use it in the wrong context then pandering to them only encourages them.

Another is, "I'm good". FUCCK OFF.
