Does anybody remember him from his time at Talksport? Wasn't he very anti-BBC? Yet now he is working for...yass, the BBC. Sad

Despicable wind-up merchant as I remember.

I actually called his phone-in radio show once and he kept me on the line until he could find someone to argue with me, until which point he did the arguing himself. I remember him being very rude.

I can't recall anyone ever saying they liked him.

There was Kookie, who struggled to control her expressive and energetic hooters.

Did I type H00TERS there?? I meant to type BAPS, CHARLIES or WABS - but NOT t1tz - as there is a problem with the Ctrl-ALT-NumLock function on the keyboard.

I can't remember if it was a Freephone or landline number tbh.
It was a long time ago (15-20 years) on late night radio. I'm not sure which station, possibly BBC eastern counties (or whatever BBC Essex became during the night). Actually, if it was, it means he worked for the BBC before doesn't it?

Wasn't premium rate though, I wouldn't have called if it was.

I think the subject was "should parents smack their kids when they're naughty?" and he agitated me so much, and I was up alone playing computer games or something, and I was trying to speak quietly so as not to wake the Mrs and kids!

He was a right obstreberous OIK in late night tele before moving to Talk Raio.

I was astounded that my mother listened to his show in Cambridge ... circa 1999

Mike Dickin would cut callers off if they said "basically" too many times and if anyone said "how are you?", he would reply, "my health is not in question".

Talk Radio would have an hour called "The Human Zoo" where they would take unscreened calls. Someone rang in and had wriiten an ode to Mike Dickin to the tune of 'Let It Be'.

It was brilliant. Can't remember all the words but the chorus was: "Basically, basically, basically, basically. His health is not in question, basically." Laugh

years ago........80's he did a talk show which a mate of mine called in (we lived in leeds) he was a right tw@t to my mate anyway few months later I was in a crappy nightclub in Morley (outskirts of Leeds) and he was a guest dj!!

So I go's up to him(he had some bouncers wac) and I verbally ruined him,he was utterly useless and could not deal with me(he seems ok when it is scripted or on his agenda's)when I had finished beating him up verbally and because that had not satisfied my youthfull stupidity i wanted to beat him up properly:) anyway his big bouncers carried me out!!

Wasn't a problem though I had already pulled a local slapper so went back to hers.

The guy is an utter moron and even though I am pleased I told the w@nker what i thought of him prob was not my finest hour!

Hard to believe he died nine years ago. I was thinking five. It's a true saying, we're here for a good time, not a long time.
