A top British city is where you have British values like tolerance, fair play, the rule of law, property rights, respect for each other as long as you don't harm others, and support for the genuine underdog whether in welfare or sport.

This rules London and Birmingham out of the top ten. Ho ho.

Green Capital of Europe....I give you Bristol...gateway to south-west.....pity about our football teams....can,t have everything !

Birmingham without a doubt, even with out all the hype of other large towns.

If you go back to Roman times and before you would only have York Chester London and Carlisle so take your pick
