A seventeen year old protester who was protesting against the death sentence of his uncle was arrested and tortured into a confession? Now at age 19 he will be executed by Crucifixion. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is well known for its many beheadings. Now it's raised the bar.

Our friends...? in bed with the devil is a phrase that comes to mind.

Nothing in the Middle East shocks me anymore.

Read about this in the Times on Saturday .He is actually sentenced to be beheaded , then his headless corpse put up on a cross for public viewing, that is the meaning of crucifixion in good old Saudi Arabia.

well that's alright then... sounds so much better?

Might this explain why the Syrians are walking to Europe?

At some point a BBC journo might suggest that the Arab world is shoite compared with the West. I won't hold my breath...

Oh the irony.

Thought us lot were infidels?

The Saudis recently advertised jobs for 8 new executioners...previous experience not necessary apparently.

I´m surprised a few on here haven´t applied...

I would have thought there were plenty with experience in Syria,we seem to be competing to offer them accomodation though.

How much are they paying....I need a job

Anyway this chap is being beheaded not crucified at all...still pretty severe

I think we can protest at the severity of some of these punishments on the grounds of humanity

But outside of that, it is their country, their law

There was a documentary "The Saudi Executioner" which is on YT.

This guy does up to six per day. He followed his father into the business, even though he had nightmares after seeing the first one,
when he wanted to see where the head had been!

Following link to see him in action....passed on that thanks.

All the above, yes, but there is apparently, a majority wanting a return of the death penalty in the UK.

Presumably we should only kill our death-row criminals 'nicely' though, because we are better than these Middle Eastern savages.

Death penalty should never ever be restored. Better to let 1000 guilty men live than execute 1 innocent man.

Report ebulGery September 22, 2015 7:59 PM BST
it is an easier death...crucifixion is slow and very painful
Report A_T September 22, 2015 8:00 PM BST
At least it's a quick way to go - executions in the US are frequently botched.
Report ebulGery September 22, 2015 10:16 PM BST
Yes A-T there is something unpleasantly vindictive about the US idea of capital punishment
they seem to want to stretch it out....not something I like about them

Hanging is still as good as any as long it is done correctly
Albert Pierrepoint did ours and those at Nuremburg always a quick clean job...hung over 400 in his career

He even hung his best mate he used to sing with, would have thought he would have excused himself on that no,
he knew he would not botch so told his mate he would take of him. If My best mate was down to hang me, I would be asking for a spare key
to escape rather than a quick death

Saudi probably use beheading for effect, but the guillotine would be more merciful
Beheading depends o the skill of the executioner to hit the right spot

When we used to behead people in our country, it often took more than one chop to remove the head,
The executioner was probably drunk so he could do the job

I think Charles I was done first time and Ann Boleyn who got in her own executioner from France

Approximately 4,500 people, many civilians, have been killed in Yemen since the Saudi-led coalition began bombing 150 days ago, according to the UN. 23,000 more have been wounded.
An average of 30 people have been killed in Yemen every single day since the beginning of the war on March 26, which pits a US-backed coalition of Middle Eastern nations and forces loyal to President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi against Iran-backed Houthi rebels and fighters loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
UNICEF estimates nearly 400 children have been killed and over 600 injured in the past four months in the country, the poorest in the Middle East.

not a lot of people know that. won't go into the right and wrongs or the whys and wherefores, but when israel after repeated rocket attacks and imminent tunnel attacks decided to retaliate against Iran funded terrorist groups in gaza there was wall to wall coverage, though not of the fact that many civilian casualties were inflicted by the same iran funded terror groups who claimed to be the victims.

Can you imagine what the west would be saying if Putin was about to behead a demonstrator?
