It was rotten. The poor American girl had only been a professional 9 months, not won a point over the three days, Europe were already comfortably ahead in the cup overall, and America got utterly shafted not just by the European player but also the European captain who had the chance to right the wrong which everyone could see but decided they'd rather have the point. It was a very costly point for them in more ways than one.

I missed this can someone please explain it.
If bad sportsmanship then I'd be cheering for the USA as well. |

I'm with my three-word namesake on this one.
Read about the incident yesterday lunchtime and it was 'go the Yanks' for me all afternoon |

I watched it live and like you RTB was utterly disgusted by , first of all that Norwegian trollop and then the totally inept and easily swayed"captain" of the Euro team.Up to that point i was rooting for Europe, however, that quickly changed when Pettersen did what she did.I was also disappointed by Charley Hull at the press conference in saying what she said and i quote"I walked away from the green to discuss the concession of the putt with my playing partner"...total load of bollox..she was obviously primed to say that by the captain or Pettersen to take some heat off of the Nordic non entity.Despite having no financial interest on the event i celebrated when Pettersen missed her putt on the 17th to hand the trophy back to the yanks.
I am aware of the Sorenson incident back in 2000 but two wrongs an all that.Well done USA..nice to see justice well and truly done. |
