Forgive me but, not saying just now what my personal interests are, though this may be revealed later.

Doing some basic research and, for example, complaints against the NHS have to be registered within six months of the event.

As always there are some "ifs, buts and maybes" for consideration.

I have two things to address in this area, which are historical, but important.

What gets me thinking, as we have all seen recently, are allegations (many upheld) against prominent celebrities, from very many years ago, who were subsequently incarcerated.

Caving in to family pressures, I will be taking advice tomorrow.

Actually I am looking forward to a fight as, having been out of a working environment  for some time, the cut and thrust is sometimes missed!

Good luck with this aunty.... NHS litigation takes on average 5 -7 years to settle depending on case details.

Have been some dreadful long cases 10/12 years to settle medical Negligence.

I understand the NHS is currently dealing with 40 000 to 50 000  legal claims.

Medical Negligence Time Constraints

You are usually required to start a compensation claim within three years of the date of your injury or of the date when you first discovered that your injury was the result of clinical or medical negligence.

It's crucial to get expert legal advice as soon as possible after the clinical/medical negligence took place. This will mean the proper steps can be taken to investigate your case fully at the earliest opportunity. Some evidence relies on memory, and it's always best to record these details when they are fresh.
