this thread could last 50 years.

Agreed.
Used to watch it when I could, and if I couldn't, would catch up with it on the omnibus edition on Saturday or Sunday. Now, I don't give a toss whether I see any of it one way or another. Too many half-hatched, nonsense, or boring on-and-on-and-on storylines, accompanied by some terrible actors (be it male or female, but especially the females) make it almost a chore to watch these days. |
|
By:
To continue:
That bloody hoarder woman is a right pain in the neck, as is that Indian woman who does...whatever the nonsense she does do. Can't be @rsed to take any notice of such a terrible actress whatsoever and channel change when she's on. Same to with that nutter Mary - or whatever she's called. The woman who stalked Roy, then Norris and so on. I just so happened to catch sight of an interview with her on some tv programme a few years ago where she admitted that she bombarded the Coronation Street producers with scripts for her character for years, till they finally relented, accepted them, and gave her the part. Says it all really. What terrible judgement. |

- and as for Les Dennis gurning it out with hamster (hampster!) chops.... aaaaaaarrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!
|
|
By:
The only thing worth watching in it these days is Steve talking to his Jack Russell.
Truly! |

About time there was another explosion, car crash, murder, fire................
|

From a purely personal perspective, it went downhill when it lost it's two fitbits: Michelle Keegan and Georgia May Foote. To be replaced by a Jack Russell and former Breadite and wife of a 'Chosen Man'..

![]() another irritating character is Lloyd's gf, but thankfully they're both fkcing off to Jersey. And what happened to the sort from Girls Aloud? I hear she was too carp an actress, but that's not normally an issue with the producers. Really has gone downhill for sure. Peaked during Snape and Lewis eras. And wasn't that Todd moonlighting as the All Blacks 14 yesterday? |

The dying embers of a once great programme finally went out when Blanche popped her clogs.

Parallels with the demise of ChitChat when call me a taxi passed away.
|
|
By:
Steve is to take a 3 month break that leaves no one to run the taxi company!!??
Meanwhile there is to be a 'Who shot jr plotline in Emmerdale' |

You can of course just pop over and live in Jersey at a moment's notice and also just walk away from a business in which you are a partner.
Too many loopholes. |
|
By:
Pregnant woman gets a new job in Jersey, do her new employers know this? Lloyd gives up everything to go with the woman he dumped a few weeks ago. Yes that all makes sense.

Drug Dealer stands in Rovers for hours yet his phone never rings????????? Riiiight.
|
|
By:
I kinow it's only a soap but it's as if the scriptwriters know nothing about real life. People with no income get mortgages and buy businesses and property which all goes through in days. Medical staff in hospitals carry out treatments with all the family there. Bloke puts £40k into the knicker factory business knowing his partner is an alcoholic gambling addict.

Live episodes this week!

Bit odd this. Every Coronation St thread usually has someone who opens the thread because he hates it to tell everyone what a load of
sad feckers they are for watching it. ![]() |
|
By:
Do you remember when Vikram (Steve's previous partner) had his BMW stolen or vandalised?
During the end credits, the continuity announcer read a message to the effect of "BMW would like to point out that their in-car security system has never been defeated". |
|
By:
If you were having problems threatened by a crazy drug dealer you would probably keep the doors locked but not in Corrie where Callum just lets himself into chez Platt.
|
|
By:
Re the Callum situation:
Tony or one of the others will kill him and bury him under the foundations that are being excavated for the Platts' garage conversion. Gemma will realise she's been used and tell the police she took him his passport and that he must have fled the country. That's my prediction. |
|
By:
...but I hardly ever watch it

Since the scripts continue to go down hill it might be a good idea if ChitChatters send up ideas for storylines.
How about a black lady turns up on the Street with a young teenage son who is white as a sheet and has blonde hair. She'd be there to tell Leanne that the maternity ward where Mungo was born mixed up the babies, and that they needed to do a swap. |
|
By:
Crossroads did that story back in 71
|
|
By:
had Sandie Richardson previously been living with an Eritrean family?
|
|
By:
Mungo is a strange genetic throwback.
Another strange one on Corrie is when an actor goes on holiday in real life and comes back with a deep tan but their partner in Corrie is still deathly pale. You'd think it wasn't beyond the make up people to make them the same colour on the set. |
|
By:
I see it all the time a couple go on holiday one loves the sun the other hates it & spends the whole holiday in the shade or the bar, I'm sure you could come up with better examples of what looks like " real Life " in a soap.
|
|
By:
Sandy Richardson's grandmother lived in Kenya in the 1920's she had an ---- well to be honest its all hush hush & it would not be fair for me to spill the beans.

me and mrs patches have just returned from a week in Dubai , it was 40 degrees every day , I am very well tanned she not much different , far too hot for her .

Without doubt the greatest cameo character was "dodgy novelist" Mel Hutchwright, played by Sir Ian McKellen about 10 years ago. He was only on it for 3 weeks, but fortunately there's a collection of some memorable scenes here.
Listen CAREFULLY to the truly superb dialogue. As it says at the beginning, a true acting masterclass, which brought the best out of the rest of the cast, I feel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8A8ViMA64U |

My missus said he's taking a break due to illness. Listen out for noise from the crowd at Old Trafford tonight. |
|
By:
Man U just kicking off. The production crew are hoping they don't score before 30 mins. Just 0.7 miles between the set and Old Trafford.
|
|
By:
It certainly was, Capt.
Any **** ups on the live episode tonight? I'm watching footy. Must be terrifying to do it live. |
|

Corrie storyline about nasty piece of work getting buried in the manhole running 20 years later than Trevor Jordache getting bumped off and buried under the patio in Brookside!

Plenty of bad camera work and sound issues.
