I think it is...

Evolution can be found/studied in the laws of nature.

God (for me) exists in nature and OUTSIDE of nature.

Course it is, God understood that we needed to develop slowly because of the complexity of life. We haven't learned to understand women yet so it is perfectly plausible that we can develop at different stages and some people are still blessed with the brains of an amoeba.

it depends on what you mean by god.

one of mono-theistic mind readers, who is particularly concerned about the minutiae of our lives?

of course not. it's absurd.

deism works though.

one is in your (not mine) head and there is no evidence of its existence

one is scientifically proven

But apparently some educated people - scientists, doctors and so on - seem to believe in both.

But these same educated people don't believe in Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy - can't see why.

The first couple of pages of the bible are a bit of a downer for those who believe in God.

It is impossible for there to be a Christian God if there is not also evolution. The cental basis of  European christianity is the necessity for humans to have free will. God new this but it is impossible for free will to exist unless there is also evolution....evolution was the mechanism God used to allow free will , no other way is possible in a materialistic world and God new this...not surprisingly.

Evolution didn't start with Darwin. The church had several academics that believed in 'evolution' before Darwin. It's only Evangelical Americans (USA) that started this nonsense about 6000 years.

No it was an Irish clergyman who calculated 6000 years

i think we've done this before haven't we?

If "God" had intended for "us" to have evolved and furthermore for us to have "free will", then he meddled with evolution to make sure it happened; you cannot guarantee the outcome of a stochastic process.

Therefore there was no evolution.

In claiming that the two are intrinsically linked, you have actually just shown how mutually incompatible they are.

No evolution is the process, there is no inevitable outcome but if there was not the mechanism of evolution then free will would be impossible....lets put it this way if god created a perfect man then there would be no free will, he would be a robot..man has to evolve by the very nature of his choices and decisions...if there are no choices and decisions to make there is no evolution, and if there is no evolution then there are no possible choices or decisions.

The mistake everyone makes is assuming that some being/academic/thinker can state the truism that is God,it is within each and every one of us and takes the form taht we want it to be.It could be our conscience or the values of our locality/culture,whatever we want it to be.I certainly dont believe it takes the form of Man or the directions of a group of elderly geriatrics or a local Imam ,most of whom have massive egos and self centred arrogance.
