Mate of mine, when he was born, the parents decided on the name Keith.  His dad was charged with registering the birth etc.


He has been Kieth all his life.

Strangely, he did always write his name just like that on non-official stuff.

A mate of mine had a son called Matthew.
I'll always remember the day my mate asked me how you spell it. His son was around 15 at the time.

as there are no homonym's (that's wrong isn't it? I just had to) of Matthew that is very funny. Hard to credit really.

Downright impossible actually.

Some people spell it with 1 't'and some add a 'u'
To be fair to the guy, asking me how you spell his own son's name was like the blind leading the blind.

I'm great at spelling but have never been able to get the keith/kieth thing straight. even had to watch the letters coming on the screen as i typed it just then..     They both look right - a test which usually settles any apelling uncertainties

(re-reading that i notice that 'a' is adjacent to 's' and that I will be discharged on all charges of not being able to spell 'spelling' correctly)

And Marr's comment after the interview, "If Jeremy Corbyn becomes our next Prime Minister he'll be as old as Keith Richards is now."

I hope Keith goes quickly when his time comes, because Im pretty sure the drugs they give wont have any effect.

Im pretty sure hes had plenty of all types of stuff.
Some of which are in the same category as the stuff they give you when you have serious pain etc.
They dont give it out like sweets for good reason, if you get used to that stuff then theres nowt else.

It looked strange watching him smoke while he was being interviewed.

BTW, It's Keith Richards

He dropped the "s" from his surname when the Stones first started cos he thought it sounded more rock-n-roll (assume he was thinking of Little Richard, rather than Cliff Richard). The "s" was returned some 14 or 15 years later, where it has since remained.

Keith Richards or Keef to most Stones fans.

I recall he called his family dog Mr. Wooft or something like that

the times Ive seen him on stage of late hes looked decidedly disinterested.
But that might just be the look of age, and the fact hes smashed it for sooooo long

Incidently, Ive just started to watch it now from the beginning between races and you have to hand it to the man Marr.
I think its admirable of the man to continue with gusto after the stroke, you can see him refusing to be placated by the awfulness of circumstance.

Jagger should have kicked the bum out years ago, done nothing since he stole the tune for Wild Horses from Gram Parsons 40 years ago.

Parsons was a good friend don't you know.

Just watched it.....Keith seems amazingly upbeat.....wonder if he is unmedicated?

only smokes the odd joint now,and he always bought the best gear,thats how he survived and others didnt

Had a 20 year holiday and then wanted to complain about Jagger taking over the Stones...he's a complete ass.

I do not like the sly digs and subtle undertone of all his interviews...dont believe I have ever heard Jagger say a bad word about him.
