A woman on my facebook wants to stop a new housing development being built outside her house.
Yet in the last month her and these same people want Britain to let in as many refugees/asylum seekers/migrants as possible.
Where should we build the new homes for these people then leftie? YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

The woman's stance could be born of common sense. Have you checked the details of her objection? Maybe you are just one more self-proclaimed 'rightie' who is far to quick to resort to name-calling and abuse. Perhaps you are not. Maybe you're making a mistake. I know she's a lefty because during the General Election she was constantly moaning about David Cameron being back in power.
She's also one of them that says 'Horse Racing is wrong' and has brightly dyed colour hair (which I can't stand) People seem to forget that the UK is just a small little island... |

People seem to forget that the UK is just a small little island... It definitely is (more correctly a collection of islands), so why is our government intent on masquerading as a world power and trying to convince us of the necessity to spend £100bn on Trident renewal? |

Sounds like a confused NIMBY rather than a leftie.
Got them all over the show round my way. Object to HS2 (hiding behind the fig leaf of it being uneconomic rather than just admit they don't want their back gardens being bulldozered) but vote Conservative (whose central planks of their manifesto is to build HS2) at every election going. |

lfc1971, you neglected to mention that Britain (at least it's ruling classes) raped a fair proportion of the world while "ruling" it. It's largely because of so called foreign policy and "British interests" that the situation in the ME is what it is. Britain has nuclear weapons because the ruling elite can't realise that they are no longer "ruling most of the world", as if that was ever anything to be proud of, and as if it ever benefited any but the richest 5% of the population anyway. As for typing slowly, I suspect that's the only way you know how.

The fact is Britain brought civilisation and prosperity,brought order,brought democracy everywhere it went. Look at the infrastructure Britain put into their colonies.
