Check your messages mate, need your help about something that is causing me severe stress and I just don't know how best to deal with it. It's cat orientated by the way and thought I'd ask you for advice. Thanks.

Off out with the dog for a walk, back in 15/20 minutes or so and will check your reply, it's a bad situation that has landed on my desk to sort out. I went around to his mansion and I got properly attacked by one of his ferels.Angry

I just read your reply, there are 17 cats all ferel that live in his house in Herne Hill, London SE24.
He is 81 and just cannot cope and he just had another litter of 4 and they are pissing and crapping in his house. It truly is a bit of a nightmare and my fiancee can't deal with it so I'm taking the problem on to help with her stress. I just need to know how to deal with this. They have had 5 neutered but they are brought back afterwards, it's really a very bad situation.

He is having health problems because of it besides the stress. I just want to cull 14 of the cats, you won't like that of course but they can't be rehomed as they are wild. Is there some organisation that will do the culling? It doesn't matter what it will cost but it needs to be done soon as he is visibly getting ill with this.

You can't cull them ffs.

Silly old bugar should have got them spayed and neutered. They breed like bloody rabbits, that's why there's a massive stray cat population, cos people are so thoughtless.

Cat's Protection will hopefully do that long overdue job.

They can't be feral if they're living with him, surely?

If he won't or can't cope anymore, and I'm not surprised, they will probably just be released somewhere. I don't know, whole thing makes me furious.

Hopefully in this affluent area there will be spaces for them to be rehomed. The feral thing confuses me. If they truly are feral they probably can't be rehomed.

Thanks kenny mann, I will call them tomorrow. They are totally feral and very vicious. They cannot possibly be rehomed. They will have to be put to sleep mate Cry

Well if they're healthy CP won't do it. But best have words with them.

The problem with the ridiculous number of feral/wild/unattached cats is that ostensibily they are not much different from domestic cats going about their usual anti-bird activities (nocturnal and otherwise).

For me I'd just simply add all cats to the "vermin list" and allow them to be shot like rabbits. However this perhaps somewhat extreme approach, whilst hugely beneficial for our bird population, would involve the culling of large numbers of **** pets. So, what is the solution, without licensing them.

Thoughts?

Is it just me, or has the picture of the little girl and her cat been poorly photoshopped?  Her left arm looks all wrong.

It's a bloody nightmare kenny mann, my future Father in law lives in a mansion, 3 million quid job. I have made a hundred phone calls and had meetings and untold e mails to try and get this sorted as it all has fallen on my plate to sort out as the missus is so stressed out she can't deal with it so I have taken the problem away from her. It is an impossible job. The people you recommended did eventually turn up, it took a month but they were fkn useless. Once they realised the cats were not in danger, he has 20 now all feral, they were not interested in any re-homing programme.

They said they would neuter a few but would charge the going rate less a bit of discount. I met the woman and she was belligerent and when she saw his house she wasn't interested in doing anything, beyond useless mate. You won't like this but I want a cull as the stress it is causing him will kill him, he is 81 and not a well man.

They said they could re home lots of them on farms, stables etc but when she got there it was all very different, she didn't want to know, too much of a problem. The man is property rich but cash poor and he needs help but nobody wants to know and believe me kenny I have spent a very long time trying to get this sorted but nobody is interested. I took this problem on to help him and the missus but it's a non runner, nobody will help.

His house stinks of cat piss and ****, all over the kitchen as he can't cope it is truly a nightmare and I want to shoot them all as it will be the death of him as things stand and you know I'm an animal lover. I'd rather he was at our wedding to give his daughter away than him to die in a feral cat infested house. I'm so angry and frustrated right now as it is going to do him in.Cry

So they're charging the going rate, presumably because they're not classed as strays. It's around £50-£100 per cat to have them done. If they were strays they'd pay.

I'd definitely get them ALL spayed (female) and neutered (male) otherwise it will get worse. You may need some help from CP to do this but it will be well worth your weathy future Father paying for this to be done, otherwise it will soon get even more of a nightmare.

As for a cull, well that won't happen unless you do it yourself, and then you'll be in trouble.

Good luck mate.

kenny mann, please help me if you can. 20 feral cats are killing the old boy who is not well, believe me I have done my best but I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm a voracious person but just keep walking into brickwalls and simpletons on this who don't want to re home them. Just so exasperated Cry

Good luck, whatever you choose.

There's no easy answer Slippy. I know what a problem it is just re-homing ONE! All because people don't get them spayed and neutered. They can breed like rabbits, 6 month old kittens having babies it just mushrooms out of all proportion. So 20 must be a nightmare indeed. Who's feeding them and are they in the house all day?
