A couple leave their daughter sleeping in a room in a safe country and pop to an restaurant a stones throw away and she disappears and they get hate from all angles and the tabloid media absolutely crucify them.
A guy already in a safe country jumps into a flimsy rubber dingy with kids, tries to go across an open sea, it ends in a disaster (not a surprise), but he's a blameless victim, and nobody in the media is saying he's been in any way irresponsible when he has by any reasonable argument been 10000x worse than the first couple.
I'm in no way trying to be funny, It's just an amazing contrast, the media are very inconsistant about how they treat people, especially once they start acting as a blood thirsty mob...

There will soon be an outcry because a (single) parent has gone out on the pi$$ and left their 5 year old on there own for a couple of hours yet this father sends his kid to his death and as you say is the victim My mate has just paid quite a lot to go on holiday in Turkey yet these people are desperate to leave I've got plenty of sympathy with families wanting to leave war torn countries but why the desperation to leave Turkey ? |
