If you watch these "Border Control" programmes including UK. USA, Canada, and Australia, the UK are a joke and embarrassment.

I don't understand why they allow filming and broadcasting of there ridiculous performance!
I've lost track of how many raids there have been, and with six or more "officers", on takeaway food shops.

Only last week they found four illegals working in a Chinese shop and told them they would be sent back from where they came, the following day>

Then they allowed them to go to collect their possessions, and come back the next day. For Christ's sake, I despair!

On this occasion two of four came back. That must be something of a record, as on another episode six went missing.

My eldest is in Australia and had to have a job to go to, and a visa which has to be re-applied for, and if she hasn't a job within 28 days,
it's bye-bye Sydney.

Why did you call her Sydney? She's sure to be bullied. Grin

It's not money, it's points. There was an online test you could take to see how many points you'd get to emigrate, it's probably still around.

I passed, but maybe they've since removed the +10 points for knowing Kylie trivia.

The old points system they used to use was:
1 point for a misdemeanour,
2 points for theft of a loaf of bread to feed your starving family,
3 points for an assault,
4 points for murder and
5 points for trying to negotiate better working conditions for victims of exploitation.

If you could accumulate enough points they'd even pay for your travel expenses.

I think they may have changed it recently though.Mischief

It was AFAIK partly age based so if you're coming up to a milestone, hurry up!

Ten Pound Poms is a colloquial term used in Australia to describe British subjects who migrated after World War 11 under the Assisted Passage Migration Scheme established by the government of Australia.
In return for subsidising the cost of travelling to Australia- adult migrants were only charged ten pounds sterling for the fare(children free).
Basically either your parents or grand parents had their chance so go blame them.
