There are no tags on leather belts that mention how gentle cows were beaten on forced "death marches" to grisly abattoirs, where their skin was then stripped from their bodies.

Gloves with fur trim don't include images of the dogs, cats and other animals who were bludgeoned to death in China for that tiny piece of trim.

And the most expensive crocodile bag will never have a label that reveals the misery of the animals who had a rod shoved up their spines and were left to die in agony to produce it.

The global skins trade depends on keeping its many, many forms of horrific cruelty hidden, because the more consumers know about the intense suffering of animals, the less likely they will be to buy goods made from their skins.
