The retail Co-op used to be an honorable and principled organisation.  Now they shut Village pubs!!   Cuckfield and Cowfold and that is just Mid Sussex.  Haven't used them for three years and won't ever again.

Were they different types of onions? Was one a much rarer type than the other? Do the smaller ones taste better? What is the cost of production?

If everything else is equal can I assume that you bought the cheaper ones? Maybe one item wasn't dear at all...just that the other was very cheap!

The cheaper much larger red onions were very nice choppped thinly with green peppers for a lovely cheese on toast.
