The European union should do a deal with Greece.
give them total debt relief on all the money owed if they agree to take in the migrants for a certain time while a decision is made on placement.
Then they could transport all the migrants safely to Greece in greek ships,a big country with a reasonable population.
This would also create massive employment for Greece all funded by the European union.
Something has to be done and I think this idea would solve three problems.1=Greece problem.2 migrants problem.3.all the trafficers(people who rob the migrants)would go away.
This would solve the disaster that is happening at the moment and give Europe time to sort out the placement problem.

No, I don't think it could work.

One problem will surely arise shortly after the 'migrants' (i.e. criminal chancers) are given safe passage to Greece. The majority will immediately decide to depart from script by leaving Greece to go a country that's not an economic basket case and where there are jobs being created (e.g. Britain).

And lest we forget :

(a) it's not a 'disaster that is happening at the moment', it's hundreds of thousands of chancers voluntarily trying to force themselves on Soft Europe, the numbers of criminals, terrorists, paedophiles unknown, and

(b) Europe has absolutely no requirement to sort out this 'placement' concept.

I was in Malta 2004 just after they joined the EU. They couldn't cope with the rush of migrants then. It's not a new problem

Greek economy is beyond repair and you won't stop migration without building razor wire fences with machine gun equipped security towers every 100yds. But that's still frowned upon

As long as Sweden and Germany say reach us and you're in, the pull north ain't gonna keep anyone in Greece.

the americans are putting pressure on Europe saying that they are not doing enough.
And by the end of this year it is expected that there will be one million migrants walking about with no homes ,food or money.
Britain, france, and Germany + a few other countries will close all borders, and it is inevitable that most of these poor people will gather in the same area.then there will be a bigger humanaterion  problem.
Someone must do something before it becomes too late.
Every country is waiting for some other country to do something.(it is a collective problem).
Europe have the requirement for placement  under law once the victims of war reach European soil.
its two choices, 1 stop them coming or 2 look after them once they arrive.
And neither of the choices are being implemented.
Food and accomadation  in Greece with a promise of a placement in another country within 2 years would help the all concerned in my opinion.it would give everyone time to tackle a very serious problem that is certain to unfold, because the problem is not going to go away.

How would the people traffickers 'go away' if the migrants were allowed to stay in Greece ?

They are the ones getting them in to Greece Confused

I posted in my plan that the greeks would collect the migrants in their ships and insure safe passage for all migrants free of charge to Greece.there is only 15 million people living in Greece and it is a big country.
it is estimated that a million migrants will migrate.
there would be no reason for trafficers  if they organize proper control and Greece will be given a super financial deal, employment for everyone including the migrants, and all the other European countries could sign up to accept placements in a fair and just way .

how long to you think it will be  before 200 thousand migrants arrive in London.
London and munich are the two most popular cities of choice for these migrants.
Report tobermory September 1, 2015 11:52 PM BST
There are already 200,000 a year imo

Bringing a million migrants to Greece and you will have millions more following on.
Report brassneck September 2, 2015 10:57 PM BST
hi tobermory,i read that England have taken 8 million of migrants over the last few years, sometimes people forget,
if nothing is done millions more will follow, its getting serious.i think its sad .they are just ordinary people like ourselves trying to avoid war.the problem is not going to go away and will get worse until someone somewhere addresses it.

You've just got to shake your head at the lefties saying that people drowning in rickety boats is because Britain isn't taking enough in. The reason they are suddenly, in massive numbers, throwing themselves into and risking drowning in dangerous boats, is because the message has been sent out now by other countries such as Germany that there is an open door policy if they reach there.

The reason people are making the dangerous first steps on this journey is because the destination is open, not because it's closed.

the situation will get worse if governments don't act now, time to move in on foot against So called I.S.or Europe will be over run with refugees, and it will be not long before the street you live in has 100 families outside you home, then you will all agree with what I proposed.imvho, its the only way to stop this serious situation.
1 move in on foot and attack I.S.
OR 2.DO A deal with Greece to house refugees for placement which gives everyone time.

Christ,

Hungary could not even get a few hundred of these people a few miles on a train so I don't think thousands and thousands will go to Greece.

If Greece was their only option, the majority of these refugees would stay put. Most of these people are simply not genuine.

People fleeing terror regimes, war and the like don't generally worry about the following 2 things, both from differing ends of the scale:

1/ Where they end up providing it is safe.

2/ Their mobile phone signal - most of them seem to have mobiles and some were pictured trying to find a signal.

This current crop of refugees were so intent on getting to Austria (IE Germany) they would not go to a refugee camp in Hungary. People in genuine terror and / or need would have been more than happy with what was offered.

As for the mobile phones, who the f*ck were they trying to ring? And who is providing them with airtime contracts? The latter may seem trivial but Syria does not appear to be so broken that mobile phone networks are no longer working.

My initial sympathy for these people has evaporated as I have watched them. Of course, the guy who lost his wife and kids has to be pitied but, let's be honest, when he turned up at the quayside and saw it was a massively overcrowded dingy with no sailors to be seen, did he not think it might be a bit risky to take two young kids on there?

However evil IS are, I do not believe the risk to him and his family were as great as the one he cast upon them by going on that dingy. I am sad for him that it went so terribly wrong but he, IMO, had no sense.

Lastly, any 'deal' with Greece to take refugees would have to make provision for all the Greek nationals as well. Think about it, hundreds of thousands of refugees turn up and start taking the scant jobs and, in time, the affordable housing. Yes, the Greek people would love that!

A gallant idea but totally, totally unworkable, I'm afraid.

the governments need to do something,it will not sort itself out.
if something is not done my opinion is that we will be listening to a new number one in the hit parade, and it will be the re release of a song recorded by orchestral manoeuvres, titled ENOLA GAY.
