I really do not like the BBC - I understand that some do.

I watched the 1922 committee meetings about a year ago with Lenny Henry representing the BBC as one of three representatives. Every time they asked him a question it was... Oh Lenny I just love you in this and that? I immediately saw this as a canny strategy to waste time for the BBC. Instead of asking about large salary pay outs it was all chummy.
So now the BBC has done a play about the young life of Lenny Henry? WTF.
Did they forget Russel Brand?

He's very funny they say.

In fact so funny he even laughs at his own jokes and he's heard them before.

Yes, a very funny man apparently.

And also a great actor, apparently.  Probably a straight A student as well.

But we all really know why he's a BBC luvvie, geddit, BBC.

I am very disappointed with our 'enery.  He used to make me laugh a lot.  I love the Chef series he did and the salt on the fish incident.

He appears to have assumed a 'self importance' that grates!!!!   No longer a favourite.  And as for his racist politics - well!!!!

I think Lenny Henry has got better as he has got older, and in fact the BBC missed out on his best work which was the drama he did on ITV recently. Was only a short piece, but the feeling he put into the role was amazing. He's a proper method actor and really conveyed fatigue perfectly.

Mick, it's a sensational bit of acting. You honestly wouldn't believe that he wasn't really waking up from a long kip, but in fact he's just pretending. It is textbook stuff. BAFTA worthy.
