Press conference: Harvey Proctor today accused the Met of a 'homosexual witch hunt' and revealed he has been accused of raping and murdering children
A former Tory MP today called an extraordinary press conference where he revealed police are investigating whether he tortured, raped and murdered two boys and helped kill a third.
Harvey Proctor, 69, spoke out because Scotland Yard is investigating whether he was part of the alleged Westminster VIP paedophile ring said to have abused children in the 1970s and 1980s.
He said police had handed him a list of names of nine high profile VIPs alleged to have been part of the 'gang', including former prime minister Sir Edward Heath and former home secretary Lord Brittan.
Proctor, an MP from 1979 to 1987, says a man named 'Nick' has made 'totally untrue' claims he raped, strangled or stabbed two children at sex parties and aided someone else to kill another.
Today he accused the Met Police of a 'gay witch hunt' and said: 'I am a homosexual. I am not a murderer, a paedophile or a pederast'.
Speaking at a press conference in central London today, Mr Proctor laid out graphic details of allegations made against him and warned: 'Anyone of a delicate or nervous disposition should leave the room'.
He said: 'They amount to just about the worst allegations anyone can make against a person, including the multiple murder of children, their torture, grievous bodily harm, rape and sexual child abuse.
