Another left wing let down way out of his depth. Corbyn next

And still they believe. I don't know whether to Laugh or Cry

His party will still be the largest, might even win an OM.

Don't think the British are anywhere near as lazy and stupid as the Greeks Tallywagger.

Yes. That would be the best move. But THEY will not let it happen.

Yes DIE LINKE. A vote for his party in the September election is effectively an endorsement of the bailout deal.  If Syriza does get a majority then he'll be back to see the president as I don't think he has resigned as party leader.

Is this the most embarrassing reign by any democratically-elected Prime Minister since the end of WW2 ?

Even Bunga-Bunga Berlusconi is said to be feeling a 'whole lot better' having witnessed this particular car-crash.

The Greeks fell for him and cost the country a fortune - set them back big-time.

He stood on one platform - they voted him in.

He was forced by the thieves in Brussels, Berlin and the IMF to do things for which he was not elected - he stood down and asked the Greek people to vote again.

Rather noble, I think.

Jed .He was elected to not accept austerity under any circumstances and then did exactly that.

His party is fragmenting because they have been betrayed . Puzzled how anyone can't see that .

It's not like he had a lot of choice to accept the troika's demands, the country would have gone skint overnight, puzzled how you can't see that.

He was in a corner but it is fair to say the government he ousted was already recognising that reality and was voted out for being more 'honest' about austerity impact and finance situation ?

To jed, have you given any of your own money to Greece this year?

Not directly Bongo, no. I have sponsored a couple of people for Brave The Shave if that's any good to you.

If you get elected on the premise and promise that you can and will do something, and find within a few days you cannot then sorry someone is telling lies....he is either incompetent or dishonest, or both...anything but noble.

Wait til the EU referendum next year, when Cameron wholeheartedly campaigns for "in" despite not achieving any reforms whatsoever.
By:

When: 21 Aug 15 10:09
Again, he may very well be a spoofer, incompetent and dishonest, but he had no choice in doing what he did in relation to accepting the terms of the bailout. His country's solvency and immediate future, and the good of his people, depended on him bending over and taking it.

Where he differs from any British politician, or any of the unelected panjandrums from the EU who forced him and Greece to bend over, is that he did the right thing in yielding to the troika's demands and then the honourable thing in resigning because of it.

As DIE LINKE correctly states, you will soon be able to beat witness to a paragon of mendacity and ignobility when Cameron attempts to repeat the tawdry actions of his predecessor Heath and sell the British people down the river for his own venal ends.

I'm surprised it took this long, it was never going to turn out any other way.
He and his party live in a fantasy land, promised things that obviously could never happen, then had to deal with reality, and leaves under a cloud with people feeling betrayed and the country in a worse position than it was in the first place.
It's exactly what would have happened if Scotland had voted Yes, it's the same sort of fantasy left wing populism.

And exactly what will happen if Corbyn somehow wins the 2020 election, god forbid.
It doesn't bear thinking about.
