sounds sensible to me

Indeed, why would you want to undermine something that has worked for centuries.

People's opinions of the rights and wrongs are one thing but the question is, how as a EU country can nobody in Brussels bat an eyelid, imagine if Britain had said the same thing.

I think they may have seen how difficult it is for Muslims to integrate into our societies
but I doubt they will allowed to do it One only has to read this forum on a daily basis to see the problem our societies has with Muslims I frequently have to defend Muslims against peoples blood lust The problem is we have very DIFFERENT VALUES which neither of us want to change But since Syria is basically Muslim country, Slovakia may not have much choice Very true Scandanavian, the EU would not allow us to do this would they????????????????????????????? It is more difficult to mix people up than we think |

Its like the EU want to re-write history.
We are (were) a Christian country, the problem with christians is they are too nice and forgiving (well, lately). Fair play to Slovakia, your own country should come before anything, without that you are nothing. |

More opportunistic soundbite nonsense from Farage.

sonko and Slovakia are spot on.
Why don't Muslim refuges try and get to Islamic countries? There are plenty of them about, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Indonesia, Tunisia etc etc Surely its a lot easier to make your way to these countries esp if from Somalia, lots of North African countries that are Muslim, Syria, lots of countries in the middle east that are Muslim. |

More opportunistic soundbite nonsense from Farage.
Explain please. |

Slovakia is, at least among its non-atheist population, almost entirely Christian - there is a tiny Jewish rump - much less than 1% of its population, the levels having never recovered from those transported during the War.
It does not have a statistically significant Muslim population, but it does have one of the lowest fertility rates in Europe. Its parliament has obviously taken note of the entirely deleterious effects on the importation of Muslims in other European Nations, such as ours for instance, and decided that to import an alien culture, religion and political movement would be an act of the grossest folly. Farage speaks as a citizen of Great Britain, where we have already carried out the folly Slovakia seeks to avoid - he is not trying to prevent the further Islamification of Great Britain, which is a runaway process about which none of us can do anything, he is merely seeking headlines for himself and his party just for the sake of it. |

By:
You should rephrase jed, he may get headlines but it wont make any difference, which is the same thing if you are being cynical.
|
|
By:
Sorry, IS, rephrase what?
|
|
By:
Farage, getting headlines, not sure it is about his party, he is very much separated from that and his party.
He is a lone wolf imo. |
|
By:
Oh I see, an academic point imo, but fair enough.

Thank you jed.
