I wouldn't have thought this possible till I just read this.....
"Private companies who have authority to issue penalties, fines etc relating to motoring offences usually have permission to obtain car owner details from the DVLA".
and this....."Yup, send the DVLA £2.50, give a reasonable reason for wanting the information (eg the keeper has parked on your land and you need the address to serve notice of a fine etc).....
Just wondering how they got your address!I wouldn't have thought this possible till I just read this....."Private companies who have authority to issue penalties, fines etc relating to motoring offences usually have permission to obtain car owner det
Did you know there was a camera there? Did it flash?
Have they sent you the photos and, if so, are they showing the times?
I can understand the business owners having out of hours security, to prevent the car park, amongst other things, being used as a race track.
Are there posted notices about restrictions? If not, this is your best defense, I would wager!

Its an invoice not a fine, the only people who can ENFORCE a fine are the police and the courts. Ignore completely and do not contact the company by any means.

You will get threatening letters, pretendy summonses with black edges garbage, etc etc IGNORE them.
These shysters and others just try to frighten you into paying.
Happened to my wife 3 years ago - still waiting for the case to go to court and the bailiffs to arrive.
How we laugh about it
ignore it, don't reply, just do nothing. You will get threatening letters, pretendy summonses with black edges garbage, etc etc IGNORE them. These shysters and others just try to frighten you into paying.Happened to my wife 3 years ago - still waiting
Absolute parasites. A very thin grey line between companies like this and criminals. I bracket payday loan companies and ticket resale sites alongside them.
Ignore them; they have zero power (or probably inclination) to legally pursue. Just exist by preying on the weak and vulnerable who will be frightened into paying.

I don't think that the "ignore it" advice is current , take a look at the moneysavingexpert forum regarding parking and they have template letters and people in the know. Worked well for me.
Cheers

I followed the ignore it path once and although I told the missus what I was doing and why, she cacked herself she opened the mail and the £80 notice had turned into £450 (incl. bailiffs etc.) and paid the fecking thing without telling me...

Trainstopper is correct. Lots of barrackroom lawyers on here as usual. Honestjohn of the Daily Telegraph website also a good source of guidance on this subject, AND he has been campaigning against abuse of this kind for several years.
