That's not an option, MD. He's already taken the bag home.

The 100k is most likely to be the proceeds of drug dealing, which means its legally the governments money, to take away this equation, you'd have to dispose of the cocaine without trace for you to keep the money as found money belongs to the person who finds it unless there is a possibility of the owner being traced, i.e. a phone or address along with the bag, you'd have to hand in the ruck sack to the police to find a potential owner which is obviously unlikely, as nobody is going to come forward and claim a couple of kilo's of cocaine in order to get the money back, unless they were incredibly stupid and as said, in this case it belongs to the public purse anyway.
Personally though, I would keep the money and get rid of the drugs, the government would only fritter it away on one of their stupid quango's or giant stones outside of hospitals. Morally you are within your rights to enjoy your good fortune. |

Keep the dough.
Unless you know of a dealer, alert fuzz as to the whereabouts of the bag (sans cash of course). |

You don't know if you were being watched by dealer when you found it and followed home.....keep it safe as he will be knocking on your door later.....pray that when he counts it he is not mistaken in thinking he had more in the bag.
You should have left it in the park. |

Keep the money and drugs in your loft for a year just in case the gangsters somehow trace it back to you, then you might at least survive the situation unscathed when they knock on your door. After a year, flush the coke down the toilet and spend the cash slowly.

Why would your dog bark at a backpack?

He could smell the cocaine.
PS : You wander over to see a backpack. (for those improving their English ) |

Drug dog?

So, this is not part of a casual walk? You and your trained detection dog have located the ill-gotten gains of some villains.
The real question is...Which makes you feel the most uncomfortable? The money or the drugs? Could it ever be traced to you? Is it marked? As suggested already: Keep somewhere safe for a while. Then destroy the drugs and decide about the money. Heed your conscience. |

Very simple Mr E.
Take the bag home, iron out the charlie in a couple of weeks, then when its gone, spend the 100k on another couple of kilos. Sorted. |

To the op this has happened a few times in Carlisle on one occasion it was a couple of hundred yards from my new house before it was built. It was handed in to the police.
This reminds me of the time about 20 years ago when I found a rem bag (Royal Mail cash bag) down the railway station while I was picking up empty post bags. The bag weighed 47 kilos no way it could have been accidentally mistook for a bag of empty bags. |
