Upgrading from windows 7 to 10 and keep getting an error message 80460031, tried all the usual stuff, microsoft help etc, installed all the updates for windows 7 but nothing works, it gets to the end of the upgrade and then the error message appears, any help or advice, cheers.

I had a similar problem - but different error code. The solution for me was to to completely uninstall my antivirus checker, then reinstall Windows 10, then reinstall the virus checker.
It took me 4 attempts, windows slows at 30-39% it can take up too 24 hours on some machines, be patient.
if your computer is 'old', W10 will not work on it.
At last it downloaded error free,took about 9 hours and that dreaded error didn't show up, can't say I'm impressed though,can't seem to find anything, control panel etc.
Crank that vapor-wagon and start that kick dragon beating.
