Absolutely disgusting my cousin earns 21 grand and his girlfriend looks after their two young kids,their rent is £800 a month for starters and yet they've lost £1500 in tax credits how can that possibly be right.No one that is working should have to either pay those sort of rents on that wage or equally no one should have to live off less than 25k a year with a family of four it's an absolute joke.I have two propertys so I've let them move into one for £500 a month for the time being ss they are struggling,a property I could rent out for 1200 a month,must be hundreds of thiusands out there really struggling and in even worse positions.

Been against this since it's inception, just encourages employers to pay lower wages, knowing that taxpayers are subsidising their employees wages.

Something seriously wrong in rich countries such as the UK and Germany when the government are having to top up the wages and rent of working people. Employers should be targeted to sort of the former and clearly landlords are to blame for the latter.

problem with that theory is globalisation helped our economy boom and survive better through subprime....cant have it both ways.
the real issue is one most house owners wont want to admit.....the fact their house value goes up is a really bad thing. |

It is rather curious that to fix the subsidy of worker's pay they cut the working tax first and hoped that enterprise sorts their own house out.

With two houses, one to rent at £1200 pcm it sounds as if Giggilo is part of the problem.
Buy to let landlords reduce the supply of houses for sale thereby pushing up prices for those who wish to buy for owner occupation. As house prices rise,so do rents, making it more difficult for people to survive without the subsidy. A vicious circle. |

Working Tax Credits are the stupidest thing ever introduced by governments imo
Why work full time when you can do part time and the government pay the difference?? Why pay your employees £10 an hour when you can pay them £7 and the government will pay the difference (if they have children) ?? The only people who miss out are the ones living on their own who don;t qualify without kids . They just have to make do with the same wage they had about 8/9 years ago before this stupid bonanza began. |

The principle that people should be encouraged to work is a good one. Human nature dictates that if there is only a small difference between working and not working, the majority of people in that scenario will choose not to work, and live off the state. I believe that was the ethos behind WTC.
The ultimate issue with the UK system is that you're encouraged to have children. The more you have, the more you'll be supported by the system. A life on benefits for a single person is no fun, but a large family can live quite comfortably off the state. |

If there were less immigrants big companies couldn't pay the minimum wage because no one would be mugged off by them think you will find its the tories who love them. house prices stay high which means higher rents for buy to letters. businesses then dont have to pay higher wages so shares and divis stay high. think the right wing moan about them...some tories may pretend to have a moan and then try to shift it to "luvvies" but in reality its perfect for them. tey are better off with these immigrants |
