Why do swimming world records never last?

It seems every time there's a World Championships or Olympic Games the records get beaten.

Like most things it is affected by "Global Warming"!

The viscosity of the water becomes thinner, which means less resistance, hence they go faster!

There are so many swimming events it's no wonder, 17 different events at the London Olympics alone. There is a reason why Phelps has 18 golds.

Swimming is very easy. Not even a sport, just a way of not drowning.
