2 hours to get in by car .....2 hours to get out
Report scandanavian_haven August 4, 2015 2:57 PM BST
It really should be illegal, exactly what % of people voted for it?

It doesn't just affect tube users, above ground it effects lots of businesses who need their vehicles to deliver goods or receive goods but can't on time because of such heavy congestion, with millions having to use the roads on a strike day, it's absolute chockablock and in some cases bedlam! What makes me laugh though is people swamping bus stops trying to get a seat and when they get on the bus can move at snails pace when it'd be quicker to walk regardless of destination.

Greedy unions.

They are scared of the trains going driver-less......that will stop them striking Laugh
Report wit-ham August 4, 2015 3:21 PM BST
You laugh Leopard unfortunately that probably wont be too long in happening
the way the rail industry is going soon be another 20-30 thousand on the dole
Hey but that's ok because you all know better cause the internet say's you got a cheap ticket
when in fact nearly every ticket bought on tinternet costs £2-£3 more than at a ticket office
cause they put booking fee on same price ticket
Report Zazu August 4, 2015 3:35 PM BST
Are tube drivers still whinging they have to work nights?

£50k+ to press go and stop pedals. *****
Report scandanavian_haven August 4, 2015 3:41 PM BST
just bought a return ticket online on southeasternrail for £22 to travel 100 mile round trip, doubt they sell it cheaper at a ticket office.
Report wit-ham August 4, 2015 3:43 PM BST
think you will find they can sell same ticket
Report scandanavian_haven August 4, 2015 3:50 PM BST
well apparently it was a 'web exclusive offer', would not be surprised though.
Report scandanavian_haven August 4, 2015 3:51 PM BST
*would not be surprised if they were struggling to fill seats on a certain journeys
Report wit-ham August 4, 2015 3:51 PM BST
SH the pre booked cheap tickets are available at the ticket office
it's only if you turn up on the same day of travel that its expensive
or if you travel in the network area
ie london and the saaf east or from Manningtree to Weymouth
ie mean you can get london to norwich from £8 or £16 return
Report scandanavian_haven August 4, 2015 4:00 PM BST
I wouldn't know I rarely use the railway as I prefer to drive, in fact it'll be the first time I've been on a overhead train in approximately 8-9 years, I thought I had a deal there, looks like I've been robbed insteadLaugh
Report wit-ham August 4, 2015 4:06 PM BST
i get free travel on our line and i still drive 90% of the time Laugh
I would think though if it's a web exclusive offer
then that one probably not a ailable at the TO Laugh

I get to go home early tomorrow, will probably spend the time in the pub. I can go in Thursday whenever I feel like and get to go home early again. Back in the pub. Jobs a goodun. Cheers drivers. Na zdrowie!!!
Report Thin and Crispy August 4, 2015 7:32 PM BST
When was the last time you saw a tube drivers job advertised?  That tells you everything you need to know.  If they did there would be queues ten deep.  Tube workers are no different from the bankers holding the public to ransom.
Report pumphol. August 4, 2015 7:50 PM BST
My friend joined London Transport at about 43 years of age, worked on the platform at Liverpool Street, four years down the line he was a driver.
Report BennyBinion1 August 4, 2015 7:53 PM BST
Vic line is practically driverless already. Trains regulated by the signals.

Drivers are only there to drive the trains from the depot in the morning.

And then open and close the doors at every station.

And for obvious safety reasons.
Report Barry Conway August 4, 2015 8:04 PM BST
I kid you not, a driver was sacked for opening the doors on the wrong side on the victoria line. I didn't even think it was possible. They went on strike! How can you not know your left or right and make to adulthood?
Report wit-ham August 4, 2015 8:10 PM BST
be like not laying the horse when you try to back it on here
Report casemoney August 4, 2015 9:01 PM BST
50 bags for driving a train is rediculous Just shows what a good union can get people ,what the reason for the Strikes ?

Staff cuts ?
Report The Leopard August 4, 2015 9:32 PM BST
If the strike goes ahead, Tube services will stop running from 18:30 on Wednesday 5 August until Friday 7 August. There will be no Tubes on Thursday 6 August. We are expecting normal service to resume on Friday.

On Wednesday, Tube services will stop running from 18:30, so please complete your journey by then and travel earlier if possible. Tubes are expected to be exceptionally busy between 16:30 and 18:30.

Luckily I don't have to go in to the centre this morning, SAT NAV showing terrible traffic.
Report Knight Commander August 6, 2015 10:13 AM BST
Sooner we get driverless trains the better. See how the lazy bastards like life on the dole Devil
Report TheBetterBettor August 6, 2015 11:15 AM BST
so the drivers want to go on strike for fatter pensions....which the rest of us could only dream of, thus pushing up the train tickets and inflation. A double whammy. Cry
Report The Leopard August 6, 2015 11:19 AM BST
Sack the lot of them, get the chimps from London Zoo on a 1hr course each....jobs a good-un
Report wit-ham August 6, 2015 1:15 PM BST
Could give the jobs and all the extra sunday trading jobs
to the immigrants trying to get into the country
then only start paying them when the cost of saving them
bills they have caused are payed back
Report GAZO August 6, 2015 1:51 PM BST
the mp's getting 10% pay rise will result in more strikes across the country
Report G1_Jockey_4 August 6, 2015 3:47 PM BST
not really pay related though...although your right.
for MP's to be given 10% in "these times" as the gimp boris puts it is scandalous and they are taking the p1ss.

this is about the way they are expecting staff to work the night shifts.

important to get it right but as per usual management dont work them so put any old idea in ....typical sc mmy management
Report G1_Jockey_4 August 6, 2015 3:47 PM BST
up the unions !!!!

Don't use the filthy tube. Walk Euston to St Pancras, then Thameslink to City Thameslink or Blackfriars, so makes no odds to me!
