Furthermore, if you're lucky to get a bank loan, you don't get any expertise with that.
Having said that, the dragons are and have always been way up their own backsides.
Probably wouldn't be that way without the cameras.

Like any reality programme on TV everyone is acting differently when on camera.
You say they get paid. No way do they get enough to change their lives.
These people go to bed with x millions in the bank, and get up worth a few thousand more. Just using Nick Jenkins as an example....... his £21,000,000 is going to earn him circa £5,000 per day when he isn't doing anything.
I'm actually surprised they can be bothered to be part of it!
We see an hour which is the final edit, but they have to travel from God knows where, and spend a whole long day, where more often than not they don't get involved.
I can't stand the new "Theo". He really is quite juvenile in the way he come across.

I was surprised at Peter when he said it was one of the worst experiences in his 10 years on the show, was with that woman with the long hair. Ok she didn`t do that well but was apologetic not arrogant.

Gluten-free -- woman shot herself in the foot because they'd gone in looking for two dragons. Deborah took umbrage and withdrew her offer. No deal.
Car remote control phone app thingy -- dunno; I'd have thought the car-makers would be the market, rather than secondary consumers but I've no real idea about it. Inventor has spent £200,000 on 21 prototypes. No deal.
Waterproof hat -- vaguely surprised that it could not have been redesigned to make it more fashionable. No deal.
Make-up for vitiligo (skin disease) -- problem is they might have just discovered a cure. Two offers -- chose Sarah (her first deal).
Posh chocolate -- not sure there's much of a gap there given specialist chocolate shops and supermarkets carrying dozens of varieties. No deal.

Yes Deborah took umbrage and said she had really wanted to work with them so much so that her offer was an absolute p!sstake !
These dragons wind me up and contradict themselves all the time. Deborah asked the skin woman if she was making any profit and she laughed and said I think so. If that was someone else she'd have jumped down her throat and said "what do you mean you think so, do you know your figures or not. Don't come here wasting my time" etc. But Deborah just laughed Are they really the best business brains in the country or have they struck lucky with a previous idea
There needs to be some competition for these dragons IMO

especially when someone tries to negotiate with them - sometimes they get angry that someone has the temerity not to accept their pitiful offer and then other times they say good on you for trying to get a better deal
