I think the 1961 story is dodgy tbh. The guy concerned was pimped out by his father from the age of 7 according to his own story, but Heath picked him up by accident on a motorway. He has himself been found guilty of child abuse later in life. I don't think he would make a very reliable witness somehow. There might well be more substance in the 1990s case in Wiltshire and that certainly looks worth investigating. My own feeling is that Heath was probably homosexual by instinct but suppressed it more or less successfully because he was ambitious and homosexuality itself was illegal until he was 50.If you want to find an old-time Cabinet Minister who was a sexual predator on a near_Savile scale google Lulu Harcourt.

Why would he come forward with the threat of being bumped off.

There must have a very high probability he is telling the truth and there will be a chance to check it out in court/enquiry.

ive read some garish content involving those mentioned and others and what amounts to a ridiculously near impossible cover up over countless allegations over numerous ppl for what became decades.
Trips to Jersey and dead kids, with very prominent members being touted as being involved, then systematic cover ups by ppl I assume had no involvement.
Not one person made a single allegation stick?
We're we living under a dictatorship or perhaps it's just all (or the vast majority) fabrication.

Former UK prime minister
One of those who stood most to lose was Sir Edward Heath, the former prime minister from 1970-74, who was known to visit the Jersey care home the Haute Garrene among others to take young boys on boating weekends on his yacht called  ‘Morning Cloud’, or as his bodyguards referred to it, ‘Morning Sickness’.

Heath on the morning cloud
A source spoke to one of his victims and he said about others who were present, and more important, who was supplying the children to him. The person bringing children for him to abuse is Sir Jimmy Saville. He was seen by the witness, victim, taking young boys onboard Heaths yacht the morning cloud when they were at party conference. Allegedly Saville is known for supplying a number of high profile MP’s with children for them to sexually abuse.

Savile had initially denied ever visiting the home, despite this photo clearly showing him there.
Heath was warned on 4 occasions by the head of the Metropolitan police not to loiter in London’s lavatories and not to try to pick up young boys. Nonetheless, he quickly fell prone blackmailers who insisted he dress up in a ridiculous Gestapo uniform in which he was photographed.

Jersey Police had also investigated accusations made against Jimmy Savile about alleged abuse in a children’s home, but decided there was not enough evidence to proceed.
A spokeswoman for Jersey Police said: “During the course of the States of Jersey Police’s historic abuse investigation, a verbal allegation of indecent assault said to have occurred during the 1970s at the former children’s home Haut de la Garenne was received.

“The allegation was investigated but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.”
Another famous person linked with Jersey and Savile was Wilfred Bramble (pic below) best known for his role in the British television series Steptoe and Son. One of two boys whom he abused in a back room at the Jersey Opera House in the Seventies was from Haut de la Garenne. Brambell was homosexual at a time when it was almost impossible for public figures to be openly gay, not least because male homosexual acts were illegal in the UK until 1967. In 1962 he was arrested in a toilet in Shepherd’s Bush for persistently importuning and given a conditional discharge.

Didn't Heath's bodyguards go on the boat as well? Saville as procurer-in-chief?
Report salmon spray • August 5, 2015 10:18 AM BST
This stuff has been all over the net for years. I accept it could be true but it's hardly backed up with very firm evidence is it ?
The two allegation against Heath which have started this off in the mainstream have been made by a brothel-keeper who seems to have specialised in young girls not boys and who has been convicted twice and by a bloke who reckons he was abused by Heath in 1961 and has himself been convicted of child abuse. I'm not convinced they are totally reliable witnesses.

http://theukdatabase.com/uk-child-abusers-named-and-shamed/childhood-abuses/uk-childrens-homes-crisis/kincora-boys-home/

During this time, it is alleged by satirical magazine Private Eye, high ranking members of the Whitehall Civil Service and senior officers of the UK military were involved in the sexual abuse of boys in Kincora

People in authority knew what was going on because military intelligence officer Colin Wallace blew the whistle.

Wallace told his superiors what was happening and even put out a press release in early 1973. It stated that William McGrath was using “a non-existent evangelical mission as a front” for paedophilia. He supplied the address and phone number.

No newspaper followed this obvious lead, despite the press usually running Wallace’s propaganda briefings unedited.
The authorities did nothing about it. And sometimes they were the abusers. One was the late John Young, town solicitor at Belfast, to whom the boys’ complaints were passed. Others were councillors. Yet others were higher up politicians.

Colin Wallace exposed British Army ‘dirty tricks’ in Northern Ireland. Wallace from Co. Antrim joined the British Army in Lisburn as a public relations officer.  He quickly impressed and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel by the age of 31.

He co-operated with shadowy campaigns run by the intelligence services, but drew, albeit without personal or professional regret, the line at a campaign to undermine and discredit the new Labour Government in Downing Street; and at efforts to cover up child sex abuse at a boys’ home run by a valued informer.

Former Army Press officer Colin Wallace, who was based in Belfast, has long insisted that the authorities knew boys were being systematically sodomised at the home six years before they decided to act.

Above: Colin Wallace (second from right) in the company of PM Ted Heath and high ranking military personel
When he refused to continue with these activities, he was fired from his job, and found himself blacklisted.

He resettled in England but, when a friend there died in suspicious circumstances; he was convicted of manslaughter and spent six years in prison.

He claims that he was framed for the murder in order to silence him.

The names McGrath , Semple and Mains are widely known but it has become obvious that there are other names of powerful and well-known people who have connections with the Kincora saga and whose identities the so-called authorities have tried to keep secret since the scandal broke .

One such person who has been reported to have visited Kincora is Ted Heath , the former Conservative MP and British PM.

Looks for all intents and purposes as a regular trial by the public on tickle tackle and heresay. Many seem to have made up their minds without an opportunity to test the evidence in court.
Due process should be carried out. If five police forces are now investigating then you'd think there likely to be a substantial combing of details. Let them get on with it without prefixing an outcome.
Many of the people who 'helpfully' make light of relevations do so without substantiating the evidence. I suspect a diet of box set dramas and twisted plot feature films about glitterati fuel this fire.
I'm glad salmon is keeping things in perspective.
We have already had saville hung drawn and quartered within a year of his death, probably 60 years and supposedly 500 abuses wernt enough to bring one trial so they did it after death.

Churchill is a war criminal for using chemical weapons in WWI
.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/shortcuts/2013/sep/01/winston-churchill-shocking-use-chemical-weapons

Secrecy was paramount. Britain's imperial general staff knew there would be outrage if it became known that the government was intending to use its secret stockpile of chemical weapons. But Winston Churchill, then secretary of state for war, brushed aside their concerns. As a long-term advocate of chemical warfare, he was determined to use them against the Russian Bolsheviks. In the summer of 1919, 94 years before the devastating strike in Syria, Churchill planned and executed a sustained chemical attack on northern Russia.

The British were no strangers to the use of chemical weapons. During the third battle of Gaza in 1917, General Edmund Allenby had fired 10,000 cans of asphyxiating gas at enemy positions, to limited effect. But in the final months of the first world war, scientists at the governmental laboratories at Porton in Wiltshire developed a far more devastating weapon: the top secret "M Device", an exploding shell containing a highly toxic gas called diphenylaminechloroarsine. The man in charge of developing it, Major General Charles Foulkes, called it "the most effective chemical weapon ever devised".

Trials at Porton suggested that it was indeed a terrible new weapon. Uncontrollable vomiting, coughing up blood and instant, crippling fatigue were the most common reactions. The overall head of chemical warfare production, Sir Keith Price, was convinced its use would lead to the rapid collapse of the Bolshevik regime. "If you got home only once with the gas you would find no more Bolshies this side of Vologda."The cabinet was hostile to the use of such weapons, much to Churchill's irritation. He also wanted to use M Devices against the rebellious tribes of northern India. "I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes," he declared in one secret memorandum. He criticised his colleagues for their "squeamishness", declaring that "the objections of the India Office to the use of gas against natives are unreasonable. Gas is a more merciful weapon than [the] high explosive shell, and compels an enemy to accept a decision with less loss of life than any other agency of war."

He ended his memo on a note of ill-placed black humour: "Why is it not fair for a British artilleryman to fire a shell which makes the said native sneeze?" he asked. "It is really too silly."

A staggering 50,000 M Devices were shipped to Russia: British aerial attacks using them began on 27 August 1919, targeting the village of Emtsa, 120 miles south of Archangel. Bolshevik soldiers were seen fleeing in panic as the green chemical gas drifted towards them. Those caught in the cloud vomited blood, then collapsed unconscious.

The attacks continued throughout September on many Bolshevik-held villages: Chunova, Vikhtova, Pocha, Chorga, Tavoigor and Zapolki. But the weapons proved less effective than Churchill had hoped, partly because of the damp autumn weather. By September, the attacks were halted then stopped. Two weeks later the remaining weapons were dumped in the White Sea. They remain on the seabed to this day in 40 fathoms of water.

______________________________________________________________________________
A general great shift in social and legal attitudes toward issues of sex took place in the modern era and beliefs on the appropriate age below which girls should not be permitted to engage in sexual activity drifted toward adulthood. While ages from 10 to 13 were typically regarded as acceptable ages for sexual consent in Western countries during the mid-19th century,[1] by the end of the 19th century changing attitudes towards sexuality and childhood resulted in the raising of the age of consent.[4]

The English common law had traditionally set the age of consent within the range of 10 to 12, but in 1875 the age was raised to 13. After intense sensational media revelations about the scourge of under-age prostitution in London in the 1880s caused respectable middle-class outrage, the age of consent was raised to 16 in 1885. Early feminists of the Social Purity movement such as Josephine Butler and others, instrumental in securing the repeal of the Contagious Diseases Acts, began to turn towards the problem of child prostitution by the end of the 1870s.

The investigative journalist William Thomas Stead of the Pall Mall Gazette was pivotal in exposing the problem of child prostitution in the London underworld through a publicity stunt. In 1885 he "purchased" one victim, Eliza Armstrong the 13-year-old daughter of a chimney sweep, for £5 and took her to a brothel where she was drugged. He then published a series of four exposés entitled The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon, which shocked its readers with tales of child prostitution and the abduction, procurement and sale of young English virgins to Continental "pleasure palaces". The "Maiden Tribute" was an instant hit with the public. Victorian society was thrown into an uproar about prostitution. Fearing riots on a national scale, the Home Secretary, Sir William Harcourt pleaded in vain with Stead to cease publication of the articles. A wide variety of reform groups held protest meetings and marched together to Hyde Park demanding that the age of consent be raised. The government was forced to pass the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885 that raised the age of consent to 16 and clamped down on prostitution.[7]

In the United States, as late as the 1880s most States set the minimum age at 10–12, (in Delaware it was 7 in 1895).[8] Inspired by the "Maiden Tribute" female reformers in the US initiated their own campaign[9] which petitioned legislators to raise the legal minimum age to at least 16, with the ultimate goal to raise the age to 18. The campaign was successful, with almost all states raising the minimum age to 16–18 years by 1920.[4][10]

In France, Portugal, Denmark and the Swiss cantons and other countries, the minimum age was raised to between 13 and 16 years in the following decades.[4] Though the original arguments for raising the age of consent were based on morality, since then the raison d'être of the laws has changed to child welfare and a so-called right to childhood or innocence.[11]

In France, under the Napoleonic Code the age of consent was set in 1832 at 11,[12] and was raised to 13 in 1863.[13] It was increased to 15 in 1945.[14]

In Spain, it was set in 1822 at "puberty age",[15] and changed to 12 in 1870,[16] which was kept until 1999, when it became 13;[17][18] and in 2015 it was raised to 16.[19][20][21]

A few days ago, a second retired police officer contacted this newspaper. Though because of the sensitive nature of the unfolding investigation he did not want to be named, he recalled being at a CID course at the Hendon police college in June 1978 — the time that Heath was embarking on the first youth orchestra tour.
His class was being addressed by a lawyer from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (then Sir Thomas Hetherington).
The speaker having invited questions from the floor, one officer, known to be a detective sergeant in Special Branch — the police arm of the security services — stood up and asked: ‘As we have a file on Edward Heath, why hasn’t he been prosecuted for young boys?’
The man from the DPP hastily ducked the question, the former detective recalls.

I have no idea.  Would have thought Heath was too frigid for human contact.  Nothing convincing so far.  Beginning to lose faith in many of you.

Frigid is just a cover for why he had no girlfriends.....why didn't MI5 expose him....because they were worried he had higher up friends, also paedophiles who could make them disappear.

I, really, have no idea.  He always seemed asexual.  Haven't been surprised by any exposed so far.  A picture would nail it.

Absolutely incredible all this, almost surreal.

@curious-cat's link seems to be mainly based around Times reports of allegations that Heath was in photos with an adult woman -- which even if they did exist (and this is denied by the woman) is hardly evidence of a liking for underage boys.

Desperatemunter

You just nailed it. You said that people have yet to make a judgement.
Quite right I'm yet to make a judgement, because that's the correct way to do things. There is plenty of investigation now and if there if firm evidence it will lead to something. It's not your place nor mine to hold a jumped up trial of innuendo.
I find the question that should be asked of all these people who could not possibly know the truth yet have decided on guilt before the evidence is heard and tested is , 'would you like this to be true?'
The answer would be 'absolutely' in most cases, because it empowers their narrative of the ever more elaborate story where any defence is simple scoffed at and the story becomes even more elaborate to compensate.
Their mins are made up.
I'm still awaiting to see what happens to cliff Richard. That was a banker apparently.

So to be absolutely clear leopard, are you saying Ken livingstone is complicit because he didn't actively shout down mellor while he defended against unproven out of court allegations?

I'm sorry to say this leopard because seemed a decent enough sort, but you are far too heavily invested in something you don't even know whether is true.

For those who have bought into this conspiracy as fact remember this;

However heinous the act, every individual has the right to defend themselves. If the notion goes that all this was avoided by stimying any prosecution while they were alive (however fanciful) it still doesn't take away this fact.

*obviously death sort of does, but others still can put together a defence
