The MTV Unplugged sessions were spectacular.Nirvana one superb, the Neil Young one even better. Neil Young Unplugged is one of the best CDs I own - so many beautiful songs.Set aside 15 minutes to listen to these - you will not regret it:Like A Hurric
Cheers guys, glad you liked them. Egner, Like A Hurricane is my favourite, just because I can't believe how he had the vision to turn such a guitar laden, riff filled rock song into that stunning acoustic version.
Here's the live version of the original (also brilliant): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxUMJ3Wy53M
Agree with lfc1971, "There is a town in North Ontario" such a simple line but so beautiful.
Remember seeing the Neil Young Unplugged performance on MTV for the first time when I didn't even know who he was. Had gone back from school for lunch at a mate's house and we stuck MTV on. Saw Neil Young doing his thing and we cracked up laughing at him - "Who is this mad old f*cker?" (he did look a bit of a state cowered over his harmonica all dishevelled). By the time he'd finished the first song we were sat in silence watching it in wonder. Went out and bought the album soon after and now have about 8 of his albums. But for the pure craft and haunting qualities of some of the songs - especially the three mentioned above - this will always be my favourite.

Roger, think you would like Neil Young when he and Joni Mitchell played Helpless on stage with The Band in 'The Last Waltz'
Particularly like the way he comes on stage and tunes up his guitar and starts..and then stops after a few bars and starts to retune...
He turns to Robbie Robertson and with a slight smile says "I think I`ve got it now Robbie"...something so cool and well, gentlemanly, about the way he says it and in that accent.
Then he sings the opening line....terrific.
