Tbh, I met her in a pool room in Clapham. I didn't catch her name but she looked like something special.
She said she liked to go to discos but she was never on her own.

Long story short, she was a year above me at school but she a popular and i was not a girl. She went away soon after.
5 years later me and my mate were in M&S when she walked by near the underwear part, we gave a oooraghhhwaaah.
So, nightclub later that day, she walked by, i said nice underwear, m&s imho. It worked.

I met my missus on the fourth day of a five day bender I was on. It was in a pub in the next town to where I lived. I charmed her with my drunken bravado, and dazzled her with my pool/darts talent. That was on a Thursday night and we arranged to meet up on the Saturday to watch England play Portugal in the World Cup, (the famous Ronaldo wink). Come Saturday though I was bedridden after too much sauce that week that I had to ring her up to say I wouldn't be able to make it. I thought that'd be the end of us before it even started, but we're still together now over nine years later.
She must've been fooking bonkers!
I really don't know where the time's gone.

Had a few beers with the guys first and then took the bus to Leeds.
Left my six month old "Cortina GT" outside of the police station, where I thought it would be safe (can you imagine doing that now with six pints inside you)?
Later, no chance of a taxi as there were hundreds at the rank.
Set off to walk, and it was a beautiful still and crisp evening but, after a couple of hundred yards, we got a lift from a nice guy in a Jag.
Frankly, with the mood and attraction being as it was, I could have walked for miles.....

Couldn't help but be amused by that. The Cortina GT gets mentioned, the Jag gets mentioned - even the bus gets more mention than the girl. Typical Aunty

Had a few beers with the guys first and then took the bus to Leeds. Sorry I can't give any more information about the bus except it was big and smelly, and made me feel sick.

1967 in Leeds was mainly spent at the "Yorkshire Hussars", Aunty, at the bottom of The Headrow. A whole bevy of beauties were always available in the bar upstairs. Building demolished not so long ago.

Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?

Tommy, I was with RAC. Liked the badge better, and if it was good enough for "The Royals" it was good enough for me!
Cost new, Foinavon, £827.00, including seat belts which were not mandatory back then.

I didn't have the money back in '67 as I had just finished Uni and was in debt. Bet your new girlfriend was impressed. Although I had no money, I still had a nice girlfriend who was happy to walk. Life was simpler then.

I wouldn't say I've got a drug problem, I've got more of a gambling problem.
1967? That's 22 years before I was even born. I bet it was a lot simpler back then.
A lot of girls I know get far too pissed and sleep around too much. It's like a cesspit of STDs. If you find a nice girl nowadays, everyone's after them thanks to social media.
