Don't subscribe to Netflix or Amazon but they do appear to be getting some real quality stuff on there  - can only get bigger with their financial muscle. Just seen this;

Idris' new role

Check out the teaser trailer for the forthcoming Netflix film Beasts of No Nation, starring Idris Elba.

Looks top quality and he normally delivers.

Depends what you are after I reckon mad dog.

If you want to produce a quality show seen by as many as possible - stick with the BBC as they are the way to reach the masses.

If their agent did his best Tom Cruise impression "SHOW ME THE MONEY" - I reckon they will be getting a fortune.

Streaming and on demand Tv is the future.

House of Cards on Netflix is superb.

I can foresee this being shown at some stage on prime time TV
Ripper Street was dropped by the BBC ( to expensive to make apparently ) & made to be shown on Amazon ( not sure if it was all funded by them ) series finished a while back, now bought by the BBC for a lot less than it would have cost them to make it & its being shown from Friday.

This new top gear show will I'm sure be bought & shown on terrestrial TV  at some stage probably several months after its shown on Amazon.

Apparently Hammond and May were not very well paid -- although the BBC did give them other series to make up their pay-packets. Amazon has an almost unlimited budget for the next few years to entice new subscribers, so things will doubtless be different now.

Top Gear really was Jeremy Clarkson and the producer Andy Wilman (who is also going to Amazon) -- they devised the "new" format and wrote 90 per cent of it.

Having said that, the chemistry between the three presenters was vital too. By all accounts, even in America and Australia which have their own versions, the British show gets (or got) most viewers.

Great news. If it had gone to ITV, it would have ruined by the incessant adverts.

Amazon is also far less regulated in content than broadcast channels, so it gives Clarkson an opportunity to insult even more people Laugh
