Animal rights fanatics are are often violent and disturbed individuals.

Often, although not always, their hysterical anger comes from the animal instinct to attack someone where they see a weakness. If this is someone from a different country, or class so much the better.

Animal pain and suffering has gone on for millions of tears, it is intrinsic to the natural world. Man has been part of this evil reality every day of his life and history.

Cecil spent hours alive and wounded before the hunters found him, killed him and beheaded him.

Wildlife researcher Dr. Andrew Loveridge says that Cecil and another male lion named Jericho led two prides with a dozen young cubs – and now that Cecil is gone, Jericho won't be able to protect them all and the cubs will likely die.

The authorities are investigating the case, but even though Palmer admits he killed Cecil, he might not be punished for this awful murder because he paid the government $55,000 for a hunting permit.

Lion populations have dwindled by 92% in the last 30 years, in large part due to poaching and hunting. It's outrageous that the government of Zimbabwe is still encouraging people to purchase permits to hunt lions for sport.

The fact that lions are an endangered species makes it much worse, imo. Bullfighting is disgusting, for example, but at least the cow is unlikely to face extinction in the near future.

A man from Texas has been wounded after a bullet he fired at an armadillo ricocheted and hit him in the head, the local sheriff says.

sounds like the Jericho bulletin may be wrong now. Mix up with an other lion killed in a neighboring farm. Apparently they're keeping a very close eye on

lion farming is widespread in the region, not just for canned hunting, but for the supply of "orphan" kittens to pass round "nature loving" tourists to play with, all human consumption (the meat is often also used locally)
