Its for a 12 day holiday in europe and includes a few days in a non eu country. Found a company called Direct Travel but some of the reviews seem bad. I imagine you will always get a small number of people complaining of poor service rather than the majority of satisfied customers highlighting good service.

Mrs Gin says she got ours from columbus direct and that they seem pretty good.

I use insure and go. Never used them so no idea if they're any good.
Unless you have special cover, no one will pay out if you've had a drink or done something even remotely dangerous.

It was not a package holiday. Flights and hotels were booked separately so that's why no insurance was booked at the time. We have a young child so the insurance is solely for peace of mind to cover any illness. I have the basic eu medical cards but I will be travelling to Greece and then onto Macedonia which would not be covered.
