Regards the Vela supernova - if it destryed Mars' atmosphere, how come it idn't destroy Earths?
A Supernova has to be within 100 LY of Earth for it to pose any threat, Vela is over 800 LY away. Even when Betelgeuse goes pop in the next 100k years it won't do any damage. There are no stars within 100 LY that are likely to go pop so we're safe in that respect. Shouln't stop a conspiracy nutter believing in it. Aners7777 is sadly RIP but he'd have been biting like mad on this thread. |
