The BBC are all over the place where it comes to matters of race.
They agonise like crazy about what they rather ridiculously call "The N-Word". At times they seem to be trying to pretend the word doesn't exist. They infamously reprimanded a local BBC broadcaster when he played "The Sun Has Got His Hat On" last year, but bizarrely it's OK though for the word to be heard in Gangsta Rap songs or Tarantino movies. I'm not sure whether the BBC's "N-Word" Gestapo have had a look at the corporation's fantastic GENOME project website, which basically covers many years of Radio Times historical programming data. The website can be searched at : http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk When one enters the offending N-word in the search field, it comes up with 135 different findings. At least 135 programmes went out over the years it would appear with an explicit reference to the offending term in the Radio Times. It is not known whether anyone wrote in to 'Points of View' to complain. |

Watching the news the other night it seems that the Beeb have followed Cameron's
lead in calling the looney Muslims "so called " Islamic State. Although after a while the journalists got bored of this and went back to IS or ISIL. |

I'm sick of hearing this nonsense that Islam is a religion of peace. Islam is driven by control and fear. It's that culture of control and fear that leads to fundamentalism and until Muslims relax their treatment of apostates that will always be the case.

"They infamously reprimanded a local BBC broadcaster when he played "The Sun Has Got His Hat On" last year, " It's a good job he didn't play Tommy Dorsey's "If the man in the moon was a coon".They would probably have shot him.

As we move through time our terminology our values change.
When we show these old programs all that needs to happen is a warning is given that some viewers may be offended by words and scenes that were considered normal at the time This is not a reflection of the BBC today We can't rewrite history however distasteful we may find it now |

Yours may, mine don't. |

The lame racism doesn't bother me but the excruciatingly bad attempt at comedy does.
Well done the Beeb. |

Let's all hope the BBC programming commissioners will also display some long-overdue judgement and not bother re-commissioning the execrable non-comedy programme "Citizen Khan".

Indeed Alun.
I watched episode 1 of that rubbish, and no more. |

Hmmm. It strikes me that some posters just like to moan. They seem to be searching for something...anything to moan about!
I used to think that "Those who like to complain" meant Islamic Asians. I certainly got that one wrong. ![]() ![]() |

If you count watching comedy programmes as searching, which you no doubt do, you're correct.
BBC2 in the afternoons, to be enjoyed whilst trying to win a sheckel or two. Yes Minister - top viewing 'allo 'allo - funny Are You Being Served - rubbish, but as it follows the other two it invariably gets left on. Btw, you get most things wrong. |

Lest we forget, when luvvie and media types say they find such TV programmes "offensive", they are PRETENDING to be offended. purely to uphold some utterly ridiculous 'liberal credentials".

When peep used the P word for the local shop no offence was intended but offence was taken.
My son used to ask "needing anything at the P***s" He fancied the owners daughter and would willingly have went 20 times a day when she was working. Say it in public now and you'll find yourself in court. the worlds gone mad. |

By:
Thank God there wasn't a comedy gay person in it as well, that would have been really offensive.
|
|
By:
It would have been named It aint Half Hot Mummy if a gay had been on it.
|
|
By:
What about casting a really short person in it, too?
|
|
By:
One thing we can all agree on I hope: Any programme that was openly racist, homophobic or poked fun at those of short stature couldn't possibly have been very popular with the British public.
