The manuscript had been kept with a collection of other Middle Eastern books and documents, without being identified as one of the oldest fragments of the Koran in the world.

The extreme Islamists probably won't care, judging by the way they have "developed" Mecca. They tend to view the veneration of ancient artefacts as idolatry and hence heresy. What you might see is it being hijacked by those with an eye to the main chance.

the bbc was in throes of almost orgasmic proportions. I wonder if they thought about the peado connections of this so called prophet and what it has led to.
